Pew research completed a survey during the summer of 2023 regarding guns and gun owners.

I never get these calls.

Has anybody ever been contacted for a survey like this?

I have never been a participant in any kind of legitimate gun ownership survey. I have been presented with a few surveys where IF I was willing to donate to their cause they would record my answer. (No money, no keeping my response) This particular survey is suspect to me based on the wording of the questions and potential answers. Any more I am believing that the results of a survey are predetermined by whoever is funding it.

I thought statistics in college, and a common expression was

-) There are Liars

-) Theare are damn Liars

-) And there are Statisticians!

You can make anything statistically probable.

I like the data that says a high % of urban democrats say buying a gun is too easy, yet a low % of that demographic actually owns a gun.  That suggests they are simply parroting what the media is saying and not based on experience.   The question should say, if you have bought a gun is the process too easy or too hard?

What blew me away is that only 71% of GUNOWNERS say they enjoy having a gun in the house!!! Then mail it to me, I might even give you a couple of dollars for it.

Very interesting.

According to the survey info, this is where the info for the survey came from in their own words.

Not a very open or widespread survey I believe.

"The analysis draws primarily from a survey of 5,115 U.S. adults conducted from June 5 to June 11, 2023. Everyone who took part in the surveys cited is a member of the Center’s American Trends Panel (ATP), an online survey panel that is recruited through national, random sampling of residential addresses."

When you’re dealing with a preselected sample group, the outcome is pretty much a foregone conclusion!!

I'd propose that what they really mean is "I like my rights but the rest of you I'm not so sure about".  It was not to easy for the surveyed urban democrat's but it was too easy for everyone else :-)

Not much different than 1st amendment rights.
