Several sales pending: For sale: Casting lead

20 years of scuba diving in Hawaii collecting lead fishing sinkers to get them out of the environment leaves me with a lot of lead.  I had plans of casting bullets, but never got further than melting all these lead sinkers into 1 pound ingots.   Lead sinkers are rumored to be made from pure lead, so that's what I think they are.  I need a buck a pound for the lead plus shipping.  I can probably get 50 ingots (50 pounds) in a medium flat rate box ($15 shipping), so 50 pounds would be a total of $65.  I have about 260 pounds total.

20 years' worth of lead singers might be worth a lot more than that.  And thanks for the scuba diving suggestion.   I guess that's how you pick them up!

A buck a pound is a very, very good price today. Roto Metals is probably one of the last remaining retailers of pure lead and they are listing 5 pound ingots at $12.99 plus frt., that’s over $2.50 a pound.

If I wasn’t long on lead and short on silver, I would probably consider this but alas……

Any cowboys casting their own for percussion revolvers need to jump on this !
