  1. Maybe we should all set up a second email and put that in our signature...then the scammers can just use that instead of bothering to find our real email addresses!
  2. I'm on another forum where just the WTB section is limited, so outsiders can't even view it. Seems very practical to me. Obviously a buyer can scam somebody too, but limiting the WTB section would cut out most of the scammers claiming to have something they don't.
  3. I have a 2nd gen C series with case, flask, and mold. Not sure they all came together originally, but they were together when I bought them. I'm hoping to get about $800 shipped and insured for everything. The gun was made in 1976. The metal looks great, other than a little thinning or something on the silver behind the trigger guard. Unfortunately, there's a little scuffing on the grips, primarily on the right side. I don't know whether it's been fired, but if anybody ever fired it, they sure cleaned it up well. The serial number on the mold doesn't match the gun. I think it's still a .36 caliber mold but I never thought to actually check. It's a 2 cavity mold for one round ball and one conical. The case is probably in the worst shape of the set. The lining is a little loose in the corner, and there's wear both at the top left (from a barrel) and near the bottom right (from a grip). Funny thing is this gun doesn't really reach those spots, and the barrel mark in the case kind of looks like it came from a round barrel. I'm pretty sure this case had an 1860 Army jostling around with its longer barrel and grips. Worst, there's a splinter missing out of the top of the case. The key is also missing. Still, the case looks alright overall when displayed open, and even the gash on the top has pretty good character. Any more pics will probably have to wait until I'm home from the church super bowl party.
  4. I've got one, and it's for sale, but it's also got a case and a mold and flask so it's probably a little more than you want to pay for just a barrel.
  5. You should delete your email and send it in a PM next time. Now you will probably get an email from a scammer (who probably isn't even registered as a user here) pretending to be San Joaquin Shootist telling you to send money to him. If I were you, I'd PM a different email address to San Joaquin Shootist, and ignore any emails about it sent to this address, as there's a good chance they're scams.
  6. The guy emailing you still might not be C Beaux. Confirm his email address with him through PM, so you know it's the same guy emailing you. It's possible he hasn't gotten around to emailing you yet, and some scammer is trying to get in before him and take advantage of you.
  7. If you're on Facebook Marketplace, I'm sure you could find somebody to take it off your hands, if you're ok with letting them into your home. (Or if you can find some strong friends to bring it outside for you so someone from Facebook can take it away.)
  8. In April 2017 you sent two PUBLIC messages containing your email address to people. Probably you thought you were sending private messages. But your email address is now shown in two messages at the bottom of your profile. And I have no idea how to remove public massages.
  9. I'm pretty sure my phone number isn't too easy to connect to my alias (I've tried), but I'm saving that number in my contacts as a SASS Wire scammer just in case.
  10. Nice rifle. I was looking at buying one of those the other day. Good price too. And I was going to say that even before I saw Cat Cummings's post!
  11. If it hadn't been for Cotton Eye Joe...
  12. No kidding!
