Trailrider #896
They broke the mould! I have met Bart several times. Great guy. Only thing to be careful of when shaking hands with Bart is if you have arthritis in your hand or something else, cause his grip is definitely "firm"! I always loved reading Skeeter's writings. Like I said, they broke the mould.

Rex M Rugers #6621
Had the good fortune to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with Skeeter at two NRA conventions. Hard to grasp he has been gone 35 years. Rex , a long time fan.
Old Man Graybeard
There are still some excellent gun scribes...but I fear the best have been lost. People like Skeeter, Bill Jordan, Elmer Kieth, Col. Jeff Cooper to name a few. I am glad I read a lot of their stories when I was a younger man. I would love to see some more step into their shoes...but not likely to happen. There were a few others...and Bart was no slouch himself.
Chantry
I'm fortunate enough to own both of Skeeter's books, Good Friends, Good Guns, Good Whiskey & Hoglegs, Hipshots and Jalapeños. Skeeter was a truly gifted story teller.
