The Original Lumpy Gritz
If it's a double trigger deal. You can adjust the release trigger pull weight. OLG

Jabez Cowboy,SASS # 50129
It's a Customer's Gun, but Neither He nor I are Known as Gamers, but we do like to hit things in the next time zone .... I think this spring would better serve on a 3 ton truck ... When you are trying to hit things at 1Km. Plus 7 pounds don't work . Sedalia Dave
I thought all the Pedersoli Sharps had a set trigger. Never knew they sold a single trigger model that was not a set trigger design.

Jabez Cowboy,SASS # 50129
Double Trigger , but the main spring is so heavy that the set feature doesn't work all the time .... It takes about 45 pounds to cock the hammer ... Jabez Cowboy
Sedalia Dave
Your best bet is to buy a stock replacement and see how the action works then. If it is still too stiff you have a spring to thin down. I have a Pedersoli Sharps and the hammer is no where near that hard to cock.

Sedalia Dave
Just in case you don't have them, here are the instructions for adjusting the set triggers I got with my rifle. The first document is by Dick Trent. He is the authority on Pedersoli firearms. DOUBLE AND SINGLE SET TRIGGER ADJUSTMENT & SAFETY.pdf This is one I found on the internet that covers set triggers in general. The Original Lumpy Gritz
Sounds like there's some severe binding in the lock. Remove it, and flush and lube it. Look for wear/rub marks. OLG

Jabez Cowboy,SASS # 50129
The trigger pull when I received was 16 pounds, it is now 7 1/2 pounds ... The action is clean and lubed. I take it that there are no aftermarket springs out there . I have polished the sides of the spring to remove all the burrs Jabez Cowboy
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Buy an extra spring. Take your OEM spring and try a slight 'dogbone' modification to it's shape.. OLG

On mine, with the trigger set, the trigger pull us so light that all you need to do is think about putting your finger on the trigger and it goes boom. Doc Shapiro
Light mainspring on a rifle like that is probably a bad idea. The last thing you want to do is slow down the lock time.
