Griff 1,561
I'm going to find myself in Florida on the 2nd Sat in January. Which clubs are still shooting this time of year?
Cypress Sun 2,878
The Florida Clubs are listed below with websites, phone numbers, etc. Looks like Antelope Club, Fort White, Okeechobee, Red Hills or Weewahootie are your best bets. Probably best to call, text or email the match director to make sure that the match is still being held. Some clubs shut down for the summer but I've never seen them shut down in the winter. Look forward to maybe seeing you at a local match. https://actionshootingnetwork.com/blog/235/s-a-s-s-florida-club-list-and-info/ Edited January 2 by Cypress Sun
Marshal Hangtree 2,127
What part of Florida are you going to be in? It's a long way from Miami to Pensacola.

You're a week too early for Punta Gorda. That's right next to Cape Coral. Best little unsung match in Florida. Although I do sing about it at times.

Fort White is about 4 hours north of Cape Coral. Sebastian is about 3 hours north and east of Cape Coral near the east coast. Orlando is about the same, 3 hours, northeast but more central part of the state. Edited January 4 by The Outlaw Travis James
Griff 1,561
Thank TOTJ. I gotta do some research and figure out where I can get rid of a '53 trailer for awhile on Sat.
Cheyenne Culpepper 32827 965
There’s a pilot truck stop at the 164 on 75. Punts gorda. Or a loves at the 143 and bay shore. (78)

Here is all the contact and address info for the the clubs so you can find the ranges. https://www.facebook.com/groups/sassfl/permalink/1572211459623968
Griff 1,561
Well, I did it... went out and visited with the Okeechobee Marshalls. I've going up into IL after this trip, so didn't bring guns... After meeting this enthusiastic club, which due to a cold wind was a little short handed, I ran the timer for the first three stages... they then took pity on me, or figured I was doing a terrible job and took over those chores, so I sat at the unloading table... got a chance to chat with everyone... and didn't have to give out any penalties that way! After being badgered enough, and being promised they wouldn't laugh at me, I borrowed some guns and shot the last stage after everyone else was done. I gotta tell ya, those .38s sure don't point the same way as my .45s... seemed to droop a bit. Then, for the only the 4th time in 35 years, I tried a short stroked rifle... took my time so I wouldn't jack one out, and have to admit... being able to keep my thumb in contact with the stock and flipping my fingers to lever a round... maybe I will REALLY like the short stroked 1860 I have on order! Lastly, the shotgun... it was a pretty thing. Loaded easily, closed smartly and came to the shoulder like it was made for me. But... after the first shot I missed the back trigger. Turned the gun on its side and looked... THERE AIN'T ONE ON IT!!! What's up with that? Okay, I gotta say, I proved positively to myself that muscle memory is a powerful thing! Did the same thing on the 2nd pair shotgun KDs. But, all fell on 4 shots. Thanks to all, for the help on finding them.
