Well Capt. Burt,

Perhaps I misunderstand, but I see the Pot calling the Kettle black.  After being offended by my post you slide right in to slam the OP.  Perhaps a well written assessment to the detriment of the OP should not be taken as a Backhand Slap??

so, the moral of the story is,,  If a shooter comes to the line without enough ammo,,, send them back to the LT and give it to them there, and make sure it is carried legally to the line and they stage it, if allowed...

although in the instance here, I think it's silly that it's an issue.. my 2 cents

I wish PWB would chip in, but the way I read the rules it appears the shooter is required to carry his ammo to the line himself.  The carrying isn't the only issue here, someone else actually staged it for him too.

I'm a newbie compared to you, but didn't this rule come about because a shooter at EOT didn't have enough SG ammo and grabbed some from the belt of the TO?

In reading all these post, one of the big issues (IMO) is the fairness in assessing the correct penalty or no penalty at all.

Do the rules allow this kind of assistance to the shooter without any penalty or not?   AND, if being on one posse or the other determine if its allowable or not?

If the rules don't allow it, then all the good discussion points won't change the fact that a 'P' was earned.

But if it is indeed legal for this type assistance, it would be nice for ALL of us to understand it better.

That's a helpful link Jack!  I like this quote from PWB "As long as everything the shooter needs to complete the stage (ammo, legal firearms/equipment, category-specific accoutrements, etc) is in place BEFORE THE BEEP, the shooter is "good to go"."

I guess that means having another shooter stage something for the shooter prior to the beep is a no call.  I'm happy to be wrong on this one!
