Subdeacon Joe
I love the stuff. Quote No, pimento cheese got its start up North—in New York, in fact—as a product of industrial food manufacturing and mass marketing. Its story is one of redemption, of a wayward factory child adopted by a good Southern family, scrubbed up nice, and invited to Sunday dinner. http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2011/09/sauced-pimento-cheese-recipe.html

Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438
I might have known...down South they mix it with...grits! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pimento_cheese It just showed up here a couple of years ago, during the football season. Sold as a dip for tailgating parties. Took a bunch with us to the islands last year; it's addictive with good crackers/chips. LL

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217
I love sweet peppers. I buy big jars from a distributer that imports them from Greece. https://www.tassos.com/cart/tassos-peppers-and-sun-dried-tomatoes/tassosr-florinas-roasted-red-and-yellow-peppers It is nice to have them on hand for Fajitas. Subdeacon Joe
I made a batch of it last night. I'd made some pretzel bread Thursday evening (and another batch this morning). We hit the farmers market this morning for a couple of tomatoes. My lunch today: Thin slices of bread spread with pimento cheese, and some nice slices of tomato, a little salt and pepper.
