SASS Management - I think y'all need to fix this

Recommended Posts

Ms. Mo, I did just that (Google "single action shooting society) and clicked on the first 7 links listed and I had no problem. I also went to all of Pat Riot's links in his original post and had no problem. Everything appeared to work fine. I always got into the SASS website. I don't know......maybe I don't understand the problem.

Hi Jim,

The problem, as I've encountered it, is inconsistency and inability to access the SASS forums with default Internet Explorer settings.

Regards,

Allie

But don't get me started on the silliness one needs to go through to post a picture.

All else aside, lots of internet forums don't allow uploading of pictures, but, instead, allow posting of links to pictures on other photo sharing sites. Nothing unusual there.

FireFox browser ... 'single action shooting society' = https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=single+action+sooting+society&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-002 and there is SASS!

For those FEW that cannot connect to SASS for any link - you should best clean out the junk files and register.

Here's the scoop folks. The outage from google starting about 4-ish days ago seems to be the result of what may be a new attack vector. A URL in the sass mercantile was reported as being in violation of the DMCA, and affected the whole site when accessed via http://www... which brings the next point. There are many issues with the current site and forums, including different pages when accessed via http VS https. We are tackling these issues as efficiently as possibly, but the permanent solution is to launch a new site and new forums that will address the issues with both. This site is nearing completion. There are only a few pieces left to be addressed before it is ready. We will let everyone know a few days before the new site is ready to launch. There may be an outage or two between now and then, but rest assured that we are well aware of the issues with the existing site and forums, and are working rapidly to permanently resolve all of them.

Hi James,

Thank you so much for the speedy reply, on a Sunday at that!

Regards,

Allie

PS People, just because you don't have a problem with your browser and settings, doesn't mean one doesn't exist. The Website needs to work across a variety of platforms and with a variety of settings for us to be available to a greater audience that may not have the Website bookmarked. I have the main forum page and Allie's Content bookmarked, so I did not know of the problem until Pat brought it up.

PPS It was really helpful for Pat to bring this up so we could find out that it was more widespread than one person's settings. Thanks Pat!

Just FYI - I have no problems getting to the SASS site or the SASS Forum using:

Windows 7 x64 PC: Firefox, Chrome (I use IE as little as possible since it is the buggiest) But IE gets me there too

iPad

Samsung Galaxy S7

Amazon Fire HD

One of our daughters works for us and is here today so I just tried her:

iPhone 5s (work phone)

iPhone 6s (personal phone)

iPhone 6s Plus (replacing the 5s)

They all worked fine.

Is that something y'all wanted? How come nobody said anything?

Hi James,

I think you are joshing us.:)

I've written the SASS office several times about this. Also, see this thread, post 8. http://www.sassnet.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=258352

Regards,

Allie
