Tennessee Stud Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Is there a difference 'twixt a "Snafu"... and a "FUBAR"? ts Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Is there a difference 'twixt a "Snafu"... and a "FUBAR"? ts What a question! A FUBAR ... well, think Snafu on steroids. If Gomer Pyle and Pvt. Hargrove got together they would have a FUBAR. Andy Griffith in "No Time For Sergeants." Quote
Tennessee Stud Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Well... UnderDeacon Joseph... I would never dispute a "current events" poster... who is well respected and regarded, such as yoreself. But I have know some folks in the past... that interchanged 'em terms. Why don't you look up... and email a fella named... Maj. John L. Plaster. Ask him what he thinks. ts Quote
Pat Riot Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Sounds like Mel Blanc did the voices. Quote

Alpo Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 This is simply my opinion, but - SNAFU is a WW2 term. "Private Ryan" to the contrary, FUBAR did not exist. First time I ever heard the term was in the late 70s. That and BOHICA. I believe the terms are, pretty much, interchangeable. They're just from different generations. Quote
Subdeacon Joe Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Let us not forget some of the other "FUs"JANFU - Joint Army Navy Foul Up JAMFU - Joint Army Marine Foul Up JAFFU - Just Air Force Foul Up Quote
