Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 My son brought me two bottles and the little helmet mug from Bastogne last year. It is a hilarious story. Quote

Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I don't believe it. Airborne troops would not drink beer. Now if it was Coca Cola, I would believe it. Truthfully, A Straight laig. Quote

Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) You can get a six pack mailed to you from Belgium but it's gonna cost$$ The helmet alone is worth it, but the beer is awesome, just like good Belgian beer. Edited December 27, 2016 by Dawg Hair, SASS #29557 Quote
Del Rio Pete Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 To hear how 19 year old Vince Speranza survived the Battle of the Bulge, and the encirclement of Bastogne, and was able to return to see his foxhole and machine gun nest, was truly remarkable. Then, a little bit of humor really added to the story of how he found some beer and carried it in his helmet to his wounded friend laying on the floor of a bombed out Church, added to the amazing story. Thanks for posting the story. Quote

Thanks for posting the story. I am sure there must have been a hundred stories like this that came out of WWII, along, of course with all the horrible ones. We will never know. Quote
