Blastmaster
I wonder if they will find the person or persons that called in the incident? And if they do, was it a legitimate concern (sound of shots?) If not, any charges against the person? Similar situation as someone yelling 'fire' in a public setting. It would be nice to hear the outcome of this, but probably will never make the news.
Utah Bob #35998
Further information about what the person had seen or heard wasn't immediately available. Investigators were interviewing that person, a U.S. military official said. http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/26/us/san-diego-naval-medical-center-shooting/
Blastmaster
I see on the morning news that there is a company that already has the technology to wire a building for sound that would recognize gunshots, map the real time location(s) of the shots and put it out on employees computers in the form of an APP map. Employees could then figure out by the buildings halls, rooms, and such, the best escape plan. Also, the LE agency could be connected up and they would know where the last shooting (sound) took place. Cost would be from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars per facility (number of floors and building(s)). We are getting there, but like everything else, only a few selected corporate/government buildings can afford it.
