Old Scatterbrain Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 ... both today said that enemy fire was not unusual in a combat zone. Is that true?
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I saw the title and had a mental image of how the Aussies would smoke 'em if it was an AC-130.
Smuteye John SASS#24774 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Now they've done it! Yup. They have no idea who they are dealing with.

Elk Creek LeMieux Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 The Aussies think it's fun to get shot at. They're different.
G #1840 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Although the ancient kingdom of Moab is a little further south than ISIS, we do have their bombs which fall out of c-130s real nice.

Yup, My Dad's company area was adjacent to a company of Aussies when he was in Viet Nam. He said the first thing they did when they got there is dig mortar pits (bear in mind, this was a headquarters/logistics outfit). He said that their idea of a fun night seemed to consist of drinking beer and taking fire missions for their mortars.

In fact, shooting mortars is fun most anytime.
Trailrider #896 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 ISS fired on an Aussie plane? You expected maybe they would have waved and smiled? Get the word, Mr. xxxxx, that's the ENEMY out there!
