I'm not exactly sure WHAT he was attempting.

 

All his preps, his "practice swings", made it look like he was gonna hit the trigger then get his arm back before the trap closed.

 

"Faster than a speeding bear trap".

 

But he did not attempt to retrieve his arm. Just hit it and let it close.

 

Also, unless they did it in slow motion, that trap closed very slowly. I've tripped double-spring traps. They are much quicker than that looked.

 

There there was the "big teeth on the jaws" but no blood on the arm.

 

And what was that with the headphones and microphone?

I agree, I truly thought we would be seeing blood and bone if it were real, not that I was really looking for that.
