Noz
We live 40 miles from the OK border in a concrete laminated house with the pillars directly on the limestone and it flat rattled out teeth. Lasted about 10 seconds and brought both me and Momma to attention.

Subdeacon Joe
The New Madrid Fault is due to rumble sometime this century. But these quakes aren't really near the New Madrid Fault Zone. http://www.okgeosurvey1.gov/level2/geology/ok.geo.provinces.large.gif This last one either ties the record for strongest or beats it by about 0.1 magnitude. By CA standards, you yawn, pick up a few things and straighten pictures. Maybe check for small cracks in the walls. For those not used to quakes, must have been quite a shock. Easy Emily SASS #73673
What was the magnitude? My first experience with a quake was in 2002 I believe it was and it was a 6.5. Hello California! We had only lived in CA for about 4 months.

Yellowhouse Sam # 25171
http://img.photobuck...quakedamage.jpg FEMA'll be rolling fer that one..... Yep! We're from the government and here to help........anyone without insurance. If I sound like I have a burr for Fema you're correct. This years Tushka, OK tornado for instance. A renter lost the home to the twister and got 45K but the actual owner of the house who had minimal insurance got nothing. As for cleanup and relief, volunteers did 99% of it before FEMer ever got here. However, the weather radios they gave away were a nice touch as was the lip service .
