So many times he hit the nail with the hammer. He'll be missed only retired such a short time ago.

His farewell episode on 60 min last month stressed to "not bother him for an autograph". Would a pencil rubbing of his name on the tombstone count? Just as a way to say goodbye and to tease the ole' fart a bit.

And now we know why he gave up his beloved chat with us. RIP.

Actually they are saying he passed due to complications from minor surgery. I guess when you're 92, there's no such thing as minor surgery.

He was/IS a class act :excl:

IMHO: Andy Rooney was the best part of that show.

RIP Sir,

WWII Vets are disappearing faster than ever. Andy Rooney was a vet and reporter and from all I have gathered he had his neck stretched out for some of his stories and he was in the mix of things in the European Theater. I figure to look up some his writings and get a feel for how it was on the front lines. As far as his comments on TV go, he was just more or less stating what everyone did before PC became vogue. God bless you Andy Rooney.
