Mustang Gregg
We are now in TX in training for our deployment to another part of the world. This is a "GREAT PLACE" to get climate adjusted for that. heheheheheh Especially when we've had some nights back home that had been in the 40 degree-range. We hope to do some SASS shooting next summer. Wish us luck, Mustang Gregg

Wrangler Jones, SASS # 64178
See if you can visit around a bit, even if you don't have your irons. Lots of great clubs in Texas! Are you at Fort Hood, or one of the other myriad installations?
Mustang Gregg
Yep, you figured it out. The "GREAT PLACE" of which I speak is Ft Hood. They call it that here. Even the gate guards say it as a greeting when you enter. Nope. We ain't going to have any spare time  to go visiting the state. We're pretty much locked down for the duration until deployment. Muchas gracias, SASS Pards! Mustang Gregg

Chickahominy Charlie
As a former Army tanker, I've spent quite a bit of time roaming the ranges at Ft. Hood.....some good.....some not so good. I always told my kin back in Virginia that Texas only has three seasons -- December, January and Summer. I guess you're gettin' a dose of that now. Over a 100 yesterday at my house, too. Stay safe, drink, drink, drink...... I think on one occasion I remember adding up the water I drank in a day while at Ft. Hood and coming to a figure somewhere around 1.5 gallons. In that kind of heat, with all that "lovely" gear on, that's what it takes to stay hydrated. Good luck in your train-up and safe travels in your deployment. Cherokee Gambler, SASS # 33915
We are going to miss you here Gregg. Tell the family to come on out and shoot even if you can't. We will take good care of them. When we were called up we were able to go to town and home once in a while. Of course that was before they told us where we were going. When you get there keep your head down. Jon thinks he is going to be able to shoot next Sunday but he still doesn't have but one eye he can see out of. He's not going to shoot the shot gun though. He found out his retina wasn't detache so all they have to do is put a new lens in. It is still to swollen to work on. Thanks for going for the rest of us. We all appreciate it. Mustang Gregg
Gambler: Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate that. I'll ask Calamity Joanne, Winchester Wade and Amy Oakley to come out and shoot with you all. They were planning on shooting at Louisville in July or August anyhow. Glad to hear that Flint Valdez will get better. Say howdy to the Louisvile Pards. Mustang Gregg, SFC
