Gunner Gatlin, SASS 10274L
I am confused and thought I saw more 'for' than 'against' of the question: 'Should we create a new sanctioned category 'Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter'?' so the question...what % of majority of the TG's have to vote in order to 'pass' a proposal? Can local matchs allow it? - if so, I will contact my local match director to see if I can try it. Just a thought GG ~
Jefro, SASS#69420
Yes local matches can allow it, as well as state and above. Most of the state and regional matches I attend include FCGF. Jefro

Kiowa Kid, SASS #69870L
They are have FCGF at EOT this year on a trial basis, maybe enough people doing it will give the cat a permanent life. KK
Deuce Stevens SASS#55996
Gunner, you can do it whenever you like, just enter into Gunfighter and blaze away. you don't have to shoot smokeless to shoot gunfighter.
Cowboy Rick, SASS #49739L
Or you can come on down to Indiana and join us at the IBPG annual in May!
Checotah
Howdy, Gunner. As Chickamauga Charlie says, "2/3". That's 2/3rds of the TG's casting votes at the summit. Sadly, as pointed out in other threads, less than 60% of TG's voted. Just no telling how the vote would have come out if that number were 90%. As far as yer local club is concerned, give 'er a try. It's at the local club levels that new ideas are surfaced and tried. If, as in the case of FCGF, enough folks like it, the word spreads and even more folks jump in. FCGF has become very popular, at least in many areas of the country. All of our local clubs have offerred it for some time, and the Oregon State match has also done so for the last few years. Maybe EOT will be the catalyst to get more people behind it.

Flat Water Johnny, SASS #41998
Drat, there goes my plan to win finish near the top of a category at Range War. You can come on over to Lapeer and join me in FCGF. It's a lot more fun, if you keep your plans to yourself, lighting off that first round of BP, when everyone is expecting your normal 38 smokeless loads... It's like those MasterCard commercials... Dogmeat Dad, SASS #48563L
At this point, it is an optional category. When, and I do believe that it is a when not if, SASS officially recognizes the category then it will be required to be offered at State and Above matches, now it is at the option of the match director. Most of the local clubs in my area offer it at the monthly matches, and several offer it at their annual match as long as there are at least three entrants in the category. The Maryland State match offers it if there are three and the North East Regional offers it as long as there are five and for the last couple of years that has not been a problem. I shot it the past two years in the Florida State Match as well, just in the Gunfighter category. FCGF Will Prevail!
