Cascade Charlie, SASS # 48668L Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 With Timothy Oliphant (Sheriff Bullock) of Deadwood fame. Or did I just miss the thread all together? It's a pretty good show, after watching nothing but Brittish TV for the last two years. Tenshot Tammy found the complete first year at the DVD store and it looked good to her so she brought it home. I've seen several of the other actors from Deadwood in this series and it's good to see them in other parts aside from Deadwood. Anybody else watch this series?
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Never heard of it, before today. Only on FX? Hmmm don't surf there.
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Never heard of it, before today. Only on FX? Hmmm don't surf there. It's great! There was a lot of talk about it over on the wire and I think a thread or two here when it was on last summer. Several of the Deadwood cast members have made appearances. It gets a thumbs up from me. One of my favorite shows. New episodes start Feb 9th. I've got a fresh bottle of Makers Mark ready.

The box doesn't say who broadcast the series but it had to be a cable for the language and violence but again the box says NOT RATED.

It's billed as a modern da western hero based on an Elmore Leonard character. I think I'll finish it up tonight.

I looked it up on the internet and got a block that said "only on FX" Sorry I did not go to Snopes to see if that was a hoax, not that I would trust them anway.

Cascade Charlie, SASS # 48668L Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Official Website Thanks. That was interesting.
Loophole LaRue, SASS #51438 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Great show. Amazon had the 1st season on sale last week, so I ordered it. That'll keep me busy for a week or so. FX has been a pleasant surprise; a good week last season had new episodes of this one and Sons of Anarchy. Far above the usual pablum. Problem with most of these serials is the pace; they tend to slow down to the point of agony on occasion. This one has a fairly high action quotient, and keeps the story moving briskly. And I love Seth Bullock's dialogue - pithy and to the point. Heros with faults are always more interesting than perfect men. LL
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hi Charlie, I watched it a couple of times, then forgot all about it. If it had been on the big three (five in our area) I might have noticed it in the listings and watched it more. Regards, Allie Mo
Sneaky Gun Runner SASS 79775 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Love it. Never missed a show yet.
Mack Hacker, #60477 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 It's a pretty good show, after watching nothing but Brittish TV for the last two years. After 2 years of British TV, old Dennis the Menace reruns would have looked great.
Dogwood Annie Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Several weeks ago I watch the complete series on DVD.
Wallaby Jack, SASS #44062 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 ... the main reason I never commented on the program is because ....... I never heard of it ...
Noz Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Just found the "encore" movie sites on the dish. Cool old movies.
Cascade Charlie, SASS # 48668L Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Allie...I like your new avitar. I hope you get a chance to see the entire first season. Mack...Actually, Britt TV really isn't all that bad these days, and they do LOVE to play the WESTERNS. Charlie
Brother King, SASS #69031 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Go to HULU.COM and put "Justified" in the search. The trailers, etc. will come up and you can subscribe to it. They are usually 1-2 episodes behind, but you can usually see 4-5 of them once they start to list. That's how I watch Sons of Anarchy, too. (great series, BTW) Plus, they'll usually let you run one ad at the beginning (go make a sandwich) and then it's commerical free. Plug into your USB and watch it on the big screen when you want to from anywhere there's a connection. I like it so much that I dropped Direct TV. HULU has all the programming you can eat. Plus, no commercials and watch it anytime. For the games this weekend I went to ATDHE.NET for free live sports. They come out of Norway or Sweden and the commercials are a hoot. The games have the regular announcers. Since my kids are gone I don't miss the $150 a month satellite bill for a moment of TV once or twice a month.

Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Thanks Charlie! I see you have a new one too. However, your face is so small I would not recognize you. So, it doesn't pass the Allie Mo Good Avatar Test. Allie Mo
Long Jim Hancock Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Charlie...I had them hold off on releasing info on it until you guys gave up and moved BACK here. Okay...maybe that's a tad untrue. Justified is a great series, and I can't wait until the 9th when it returns. You KNOW its good when ANTETY likes it as much as I do.... Oliphant does a really good job fleshing out the lead charactor...he's becoming one of my favorites. The supervising Marshal charactor is well played also. Having spent a GOOD deal of my youth in that eastern Kentucky area....AND in law enforcement as well, it's especially interesting show for me.

I have made a point to watch each show and am hoping it will be back this year.\ Shenny

I guess that like Snopes says Hanoi Jane is not a traitor. My cousins son will hardly speak to me now because I called his hand on Hanoi Jane and stated that she was a TRAITOR. Shenny

It and I got rained on that day at the US Open. I just picked that for an avatar as I look happy, which I was because I was sitting in the "famous" Ain't Dunit's golf cart chatting with T, Ringo, Nuttin', Honey, Copperhead... What a wonderful weekend! Now, back to the regularly scheduled program. Regards, Allie Mo
el Gato Gordo - SASS #15162 Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Never heard of it. If it isn't on broadcast, or DVD, we won't see it. One of us is too much of a skinflint to PAY for TV, and the other one, bless her heart, doesn't care enough about TV to pay for it. Buena suerte, eGG
