Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
DV I have been thinking of making a couple of 6 rd double loop s/g slides to go on my pistol belt . If I rember right you will need single loop slides . I may go to a dbl bbl , and retire the 97 . If the pocket Idea works out it will also be easy to adapt to a belt style , MAYBE ?? I do not have it worked out yet , but I bet someone is already making what I am thinking of . Most likely I will use a 2in or a 2 1/2 in belt to start with . First I have to get the pocket thing worked out . Chickasaw

I found out that some people have TWO holster set out here that they wear... pretty cool really, but I never knew that before. I think I read someplace that you can not have a loop under your holster.. so I may have to slide my holster out a bit further, or rethink what I am doing? Chickasaw Bill SASS #70001
DV With as small as you are , there is not a lot of room on your gun belt , to add ctg. slides. You mite think about using a seperate S/G belt . In my case there is plenty of room to add a lot of stuff to my gun belt. THe rules say you can not put a S/G slide over a S/G belt . I am playing with the spacing , it looks like I can get 6rds in a 7in or so slide . CB
Deja Vous
Hey wait a second.... I am not 12 years old.. lol.. I have a grown up gun belt.. lol Just kidding... I find that I rarely used the loops on my old 45 belt, so the change to a new belt forced me to simply make room for the shotgun shells up front and go cross draw. I ended up liking crossdraw a lot!! Now if I would have bone two gun belts like B western people can do I guess I could have put something on each one.. but I am not B western.. am a crazy vous.. lol.. so I have my own bling style I guess. Deja Vous
Way back when I had a belt made ffor my wife by Kirkpatrick. Just Wild Bill was selling for them back then. Anyway I had them put the shotgun loops in the middle of the belt. There are loops for 38 shells on the sides. She wore it backwards and it worked well. They now make one like it for the ladies. Be sure to get the belt cut on the bias to better fit you figure. You would probaly like her rig. But it is set up for 32 rugers and 20 guage shells. Russ It fits pretty good, and it does buckle in the back... It was cut for me, skinny.. lol

Charlie Whiskers
I don't use a "proper" gun belt anymore.Got tired if fighting with that darn slide this belt thru that loop then buckle the outter one.Now I just use a 2 inch belt with my 8 shell shotgun slide in the middle. As for extra bullets,if I need them,I stick 2 in each of the cross loops of the holsters. They stay there even with the pistol out of the holster and for me are easier to grab than have a slide or permanent bullt loops on the belt. Holden A. Grudge
I am built kinda small around the middle and don't have much room on my gunbelt for a shotgun slide. I am useing one currently that goes over my belt buckle but only have room for a 6 round slide. Found out last match that it wasn't enough and spend a lot of time digging shells out of pockets. Decided to make myself a bandoleir and see how that works. Thought about a shotgun belt but being short as well as narrow it tends to bunch up on my gun belt. If I ever get the danged bandoleir finished I will let you know how it works out.

Are you trying to sort out a new configuration for a holster rig? There are a few folks out there making custom stuff to die for. What I "think" your trying to say is that you think you want a gun belt with loops for shotgun, and don't need loops for pistol/rifle ammo. This is the rig I'm thinking of having made up for me - no bullet loops - Pecos. He makes shotgun slides that can go over the belt: Shotgun shell loops. The cool thing is that he can add Pistol/Rifle loops to the shotgun slides - so you can have a couple of four rounders with 3 pistol loops on each, and thus go to the line with a gun belt, two holsters, two 4 rd shotgun slides with 3-6 rds pistol ammo tucked on them - bullets pointed up! Why - cause when you need them you can grab them and pull them down and out quickly . . . . There are probably others out there that can do you up real nice too . . .it just takes money . . . .. Earlier Holden talked about using slides - I've a 6 rnd and an 8 rnd from El Paso - they slide on the belt and move over the buckle in the front to place the shells at hand, and they work well - but I still use a canvas shotgun belt as a necessity - I just like having more shotgun ammo than I can possibly use! So . .tell us . .whats this about - making changes? Shadow Catcher P.S. - Agree - cross draw is the way to go! SC

So . .tell us . .whats this about - making changes? Shadow Catcher P.S. - Agree - cross draw is the way to go! SC Mine is made with only shotgun shells in the front and no other loops, and it buckels in the back which is perfect for me.. except he gave me one too many double shotgun shell holders cuz my cross draw sits over the last set. If I need to carry a few extra 38's I don't have a spot, and digging them out takes time. Plus I need to add something for spent brass... but if I get too much on my belt it will slip off me.. lol.. too heavy. So, the changes might be to add a couple loops on the holders for 38,s... if that is legal.. Yeah, I love the cross draw, it just is more natural for me, still getting use to it, but it will be faster for me.

Presidio
Jest muh 2 cents here and preferences. I run a crossdraw rig. Didn't favor wearing two belts or additional cartridge slides; so I designed and had this one built fer me a few years back. It's the onliest one I got left now. Presidio's Rig I've since died it a medium dark brown and added a small possibles bag. There are 5 double SG loops situated above a buscadero style strong side holster. Nope. They don't interfer with the drawing or holstering of the pistol, either. Two .45lc loops behind the strong side and two in back of the XD with four more in front. These also suffice to carry "tools" when I'm shooting C&B. Like a nipple pick and cap seater and a "bullet" screwdriver when-ever needed. The holsters are opened on bottom so I can shoot either 5" or 7" barrels without a hitch. The leather is "soft" so it forms and hangs natural like, and doesn't pinch me when-ever I'm in other than an upright standing/moving postion. Works fer me!
