  1. Puppet Masters by Robert A. Heinlein. My older cousin loaned me his copy when I was 7 years old and I've been a Sci-Fi fan ever since. The movie was a sucky adaptation of the novel. As usual.
  2. posting photos: I'm using an iPhone. Type any text you want in the box, then you should see a paper clip, an "Add Files" box, and an "Other Media" menu at the bottom, like this: To upload a photo, I click on "Add Files", which brings up another menu that looks like this: Then I click on Photo Library at the head of the list and my phone's photo album opens up. Click on the photo you want, click on "ADD" at the top of your album page, and it will upload as a thumbnail photo to this window. If you want the photo to show full size in your comment, click "Insert" that shows up in the thumbnail: It's a lot easier to do rather than write it out!
  3. I know Shooting Bull is already a lot faster than me, but he has endured enough bs'ing. So in case it will help... My improvements came by practicing one shot from each of the four guns without a target, just shooting all four guns into the dirt berm (1-1-1-1 instead of 10-10-4) using a timer of course. One shot from each gun preserves ammo and allows more transition practice. Not trying to hit a target allows you to focus only on improving your time. Practice each combination of shooting all four guns in a row, and record the times and intervals for each cycle, and then work on your slowest transition interval. You already know how to pull the trigger, and your eyes will find the targets when you need them to in a match. Force yourself to practice the transitions exclusively. The timer will give you the feedback you need. Good luck at Landrun!
  4. Except it's dang near impossible to unseat an incumbent. In theory you are correct. But in the real world...
  5. It could be worse...we could have to play football in Kansas City tomorrow night!!
  6. You've shown us pictures of your house. And powder inventory. I wouldn't light a fire anywhere in there!!
  7. Term limits; 1 term in each job. Opponents say that will make the government less efficient. How will you tell?
  8. I tried to get a screenshot of your tenant and thought it might be a junco, but then I looked at a map of junco distribution and they go everywhere except Florida! Mystery bird.
  9. Your dog was licking its butt a few minutes before licking your leg. There will be bacteria in your wound. Every veterinarian who has treated abscessed wounds from dog and cat fights can verify that dog and cat mouths contain pathogenic bacteria.
  10. If I can afford it and want it, it's the going rate. If I want it but can't afford it, it's scalping.
  11. Sorry I missed you last night. 5:00 PM is only two hours away!
  12. I do this as a demonstration for every new shooter I take to the range. They remember it.
  13. Thank goodness. Who wants enemies who are effective soldiers?
  14. Sunset was better than Hour of the Gun, but I am sure there will be disagreement. I have loved Garner since Maverick in 1957. An underrated actor.
  15. I wrapped some 4/0 steel wool around a bore mop on a cleaning rod, soaked it in Kroil, and stroked the xxxx out of it!
  16. Titegroup was my main smokeless powder in .38 Specials, 3.5 grains under a 125 grain lead RNFP. Hodgdon lists 3.2 min to 3.8 max for CAS, so I loaded in the middle. Clean and accurate. The brass gets hot, and it has a nice bang.
  17. For those who think today's political divisions are unusual, I suggest reading "Founding Brothers" by Joseph Ellis. The proponents of a strong Federal government and those who prefer less centralization have constantly been at each other's throats since the very beginning. The difference today is nightly TV news, and social media. The state of the Union address has evolved into just another campaign speech, not the objective update that was originally requested.
  18. As I recall, Cherokee Firearms. The only other possibility would be Batteries Plus on South Campbell, but I really think it was the gun store.
  19. Good advice. I prefer Schuetzen to Goex if the price is close, but it's Ginger vs. Mary Ann mostly.
  20. My NEBO, a Torchy 2K. Recharges off a USB connection. Always in my pocket.
