  1. I am told an Italian uncle was allowed to name the twins while Mom was in recovery. He named the first Denise... the other he named Denephew
  2. You folks in Maryville... keep a close watch on your city council. They will be mightily tempted to bend and allow the Californication of your town. Small lots, shallow setbacks, zero lot lines and high density housing. Your small town infrastructure is not designed to handle a high influx of traffic, power, water and sewage loads. Do not yield to the siren song of more property tax revenue. Once Californicated, it cannot be undone.
  3. That milk bottle date just screams "public school"
  4. Not in Sacramento. We go up the hill to Tahoe to do that.
  5. And you are still here. Bite it, spit it out, and move on. IMO, the real reason behind the lead ban is making ammo increasingly expensive and discouraging its use. They cannot take away our right to arms, but they will try and make it impossible to shoot.
  6. I keep solid tablets in the freezer and gel caps in the fridge outer door. The efficacy remains for a longer period of time due to the slowing of chemical changes in the cold.
  7. We are members of the Corvette Club. Two of my lodge brothers drive 'Vettes. Neither comes out when it rains. I bought a new 2023 Tacoma, but kept the old 1991 Truck. On a rainy night at lodge, the guys asked me, "Where is the new truck?" I replied, "It's raining"... and that is when I joined the Corvette Club. My real concern is the new truck getting smacked by some idiot on his phone and driving on slick streets.
  8. Especially if you see them on a regular basis.
  9. Neither, as the above is a cartoon and I live in CA where it does not snow. Now... if that question was about driving over or through, a raft of protesters, that would be a question in need of serious thought.
  10. I was fortunate at my first two swings at bat... #1 cost me the only Hammond C3 organ I will ever own. #2 cost me the house, the car, and the bank account, in trade for my son. I got a bargain. It was truly a sight... watching a woman stick a car and house up her nose. My third time at bat was a home run... 44 years worth.
  11. I bet her daddy married his sister, and it didn't bother her one bit.
  12. Asking for a friend... are there holsters made that will hold a Beretta in a walker?
  13. I don't own one, so I have no dog in this event. However, my SIL is a Navy Captain, and Sig is his choice for his personal weapons, of which he has many.
  14. As I understand it from the geologic history, the Earth has been in a short term cold trend, and is now returning to its long term status of higher temps and green house gasses. Like it had for hundreds of millions of years.
  15. Other than a whole lot of delayed luggage coming back from Mardi Gras, we had zero impact this time around. Next door lost seven sections of fence.
  16. This is how it is in CA, and for quite awhile now. And nothing ever came of it. America chooses to roll over, rather than stand up and push back.
  17. The above is why I have a response for those who crow about their gun friendly states. "For now" is my response. Look at the number of RINOs who side with Democrats on a variety of bills, including gun control. My wife believes they are true Democrats who changed to GOP to get elected, then swing Red states. True or not, the eternal creep toward socialism and total gun control is ever-advancing, even in the gun friendly states. George Soros just bought 220 radio stations, no doubt with the intent of influencing young minds that listen to these music stations. They truly play the long game, and conservatives are too stupid to see it and respond.
  18. I have no interest in bump stocks. I have great interest in SCOTUS (finally) stepping up to solidly affirm the 2nd Amendment. However, I have equal dread the SCOTUS will punt instead and not take a firm stand.
  19. I always find it amusing that the cuckolded husband takes out his rage on the guy banging his wife. The wife is the real problem.
  20. Tremendous amount of damage here. When we were coming back from Mardi Gras, the Sacramento airport was entirely closed down and all flights cancelled. This happened again yesterday, again due to high winds. We had a tornado warning for the I5 area here. The photos below are indicative of the amount of damage here. We don't get the wide spread mudslides they get in SoCal.
  21. We wanted Prescott as well... but that ship sailed 20 years ago. The median house price in Prescott is now $573,000. This means at my age, I would have to start a new mortgage. The tax rate is a low $4.36 per assessed value, which is less than most other places I've looked into. Average property tax paid in Prescott is $1,686 which is $600 less than my paid off house in CA. However, taxes on the median priced house would jump to $2500. CA and AZ both have income taxes and sales taxes, so that would be a wash for us. The biggest problem with moving to Prescott for us is, I have few years left plus the load of a new mortgage. When I hit end of trail, my bride will be 1600 miles from her daughters, and on her own.
  22. X-treme Bullets was my biggest spammer. One simply Unsubscribes from these legit businesses, and their daily/hourly spam goes away. I have bought several pieces from Buds over the last decade, and am NOT on their mailing list. I understand these companies are using free internet advertising to survive, but too much is too much.
  23. Excellent! 44 years for us also
  24. Here, the wind was blowing so hard (again) it knocked over full trash cans out on the street for pickup. While we were away at Mardi Gras, the wind took out seven sections of my neighbors fence. Still too muddy to sink new posts, so waiting for dry-out.
  25. Anybody who has a daughter that went to Prom, understands this. I have three, and still scratch my head over spending all the money for a one-nighter. That seems like a waste of good money, no matter what one is buying for a single use.
