Just saying what I read. Have been shooting my Original and Uberti for 23 years. Good cartridge. Have shot mine out to 300 yards. The hammer spring busted. On my original. Dixie Gun Works have them. If you ever need one. Mite be a good idea to order one. Mine busted at a 200 yard shoot.

The 45-60 loaded at the factory used a 300 grain Bullet. I read it in Mike Venturino's Book shooting lever guns of the old west. I take it any Cartridge that used a 300 grain Bullet was considered an express round.

Texas Red is a good guy to do Business with. I also have original WINCHESTER IN 45-60. Cut down 45-70 cases work fine in mine. You can use 45-70 reloading dies. If you can't find 45-70's. A lot of people use 400 grain bullets in a 45-60. They seem to work for them. The correct bullet is 300 grain. The 45-60 is considered to be a express round. You will enjoy shooting it.

I was tested a few years ago. Was told everything was good. The nurse said the only person she was aware of that had lead in his system. Was a reenactor, that held the round balls in his mouth. Between reloads.

I think a lot has to do with people using Depit cards. Put the card in the reader. You don't see cash leaving your hand. If people did they would pay attention to how much everything costs.
