New holster day

I know, don't buy anything, but this was in the works years before I thought about SASS. I bought my 1858 Uberti stainless two years ago, picked up the Howell cylinder about 6 months or so ago, and I  really like it. I found a guy making Slim Jim rigs, ( just Slim Jims), for black powder and traditional Western revolvers on another website, and asked him much for this one. I have always been of the opinion that every pistol I own should have a holster, JUST in case.
And this one was well under $200, feels solid as a rock and fits like a custom glove. Also took less than two months from order to delivery. I had time to snap a couple of fast pics before I had to run out to work. This will replace the horrible Triple K MidwayUSA junk I am using now.

I just felt like sharing. 🤠

Very nice. Slim Jim with a long barrel won't be real fast but you will look good which is just as important. :)

Period holsters make good photo props as well.

I won't ever be fast with a single action, so I don't think that will be a problem. :) And yes, it DOES look good, doesn't it?

And I found a belt that almost matches, the color of the rig is right between the color of the belt and the cartridge loops. Well made, solid and feels good. Not as heavy as say, a Mernickle rig, but the super heavy duty leather wouldn't have fit through the belt loop on the holster. Whaddya think?

So, a quick update, because I am an idiot. I gave the man the wrong sizes. Even my wife called me an idiot, well deserved. Then the maker did something i never expected - he took them back and made me new ones. Color me seriously stunned, and yes, there are two belts here for two different guns and potential setups for the future. No, I had been considering this long before I joined SASS, I have this need to have holsters for every handgun I own, practical or not, and this might work out right - both have room on the other side. ;) These are better than the first ones - this guy also makes holsters, but I didn't get one yet. The black rig is an El Dorado from Simply Rugged, BTW, good rig.

I know, not great for the game - when I get the companion revolver for the Birds Head I intend to get that fine Mernickle SASS Starter Rig.

Looking good!  I just love a "money belt" and slim jims.  DSCN1501.thumb.JPG.514021ec21b6ad31850730eef2383da6.JPG

These are a pair for my Patersons... (also not great for competition...  actually pretty poor for competition... but great style points!)  Also don't quite color match... but, who cares?

Looks good to me, VERY period looking, sir, I'd be proud to sport that.

I still might get either a shotgun slide or separate belt, and a matching El Dorado holster for the black one just to see if I can use it. After all, I'm poor. :D Gotta use what's available! Also, still don't have a second revolver...
