Warm Beer Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Essentially appendix holsters integrated with your suspenders and pants buttons. In a video from Thunder Ranch, Clint Smith shows off a set of button style pant holsters. I at one point found a picture of this style of holster for a Derringer but haven't been able to relocate it. Here is a link to the video from Thunder Ranch in question. https://youtu.be/SQa7XBq5wwo?si=LYaaN6EZ8J9G599n In the book "Packing Iron" there's some information on it but I don't have the book and haven't seen those pages. Apparently popular for small pocket type pistols in the 1880 and 1890s. If you know of anyone with this type of holsters or someone making them please let me know. Thanks, Warm Beer
Dantankerous Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 Always love some Clint Smith stuff! Great alias, by the way.

Local library has some of his other books but not that one. I'll see if they can loan it from another library for me.
Rip Snorter Posted August 12, 2024 Posted August 12, 2024 One of the famous old west outlaw gunfighters was taken on a train by law enforcement without a fight because he couldn't draw from his suspender holster. Can't recall just who it was. Have to think about where I might have read about it.

Silver Dollar Drifter Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 I went to a harness/leather maker at an Amish community & had my holster made on my suspenders as I described to him. Turned out just fine for me.
