I bought an original 1887 about ten years ago.  Knowing the brilliance of JMB, I got replacement tang screws from the more popular 1886 rifle.

Do we have any updates on the new Cimarron 87 with the drop two action work done yet ?

I’ve only watched the first video, but you touched all of the key elements of the ‘87!  
 

I’m running an early Norinco (Chinwester) that’s un-modified. I’ve had every issue you mentioned, to the point that I will check my screws at the loading table every time.  The funniest was pulling a shell off of  the bolt and pitching it over my shoulder (didn’t eject) and hit the score keeper. 😆

 

An interesting side note is that there are three shooters using ‘87’s at my local club, 1 original and two reproductions.
