Personally I am pro-suppressor, although it would look weird in CAS.

That's why I am indifferent to the threaded barrel.  I have nothing against silencers in principle, it just seems like an odd feature for a lever gun.

But then again, I never got one of those "tachticool" 94 based rifles because they don't have a bayonet lug.

When I first saw this, I immediately got excited at the idea. I think it provides a lot of potential for a really awesome rifle. I wonder if they will offer one with a pistol grip stock.

Thanks Taylor’s for being innovative!

How do we buy it?

Same as any other rifle - find one, pay for it, and have it shipped to your FFL of choice.  :D

OK, seriously, online retailers are estimating July 11th availability at the moment, so at least six weeks out still. Call or email Taylors.

The stroke will be the same as any other 73. All they did is modify the carrier. Most likely the modification is very similar to the modification required to shoot 45 Cowboy Specials or 45 ACP.

Extraction is no different than any other case.

The chamber is different since the 9X19 case indexes on the case mouth.  The bolt is different since the case is rimless.

I shot a Uberti 1860 Henry Trapper modified (stop screw in the carrier) to shoot Cowboy .45 Special.  I loaded these rounds with Lee .45 ACP dies that made a taper crimp, instead of the roll crimp common to revolver rounds.  I only felt safe when shooting compressed BP or subs, as I was concerned about setting the bullet into the case with the taper crimp.

I asked the folks at Taylor's if they had considered this issue.  The e-mail response just stated that any factory-loaded 9x19mm cartridge should be fine.

I guess that we will see.

Tapper crimp is not a problem for pistol caliber carbines.

Honestly the comanchero is more, I just looked at all the 73’s they have listed and $1600 is the lowest price

That Comanchero is slicked up and the white is probably more. I paid $1300 a Cimarron  from Barleycorn 6 months ago. Short stroke kit was $200 and a new aluminum carrier was $80.00 so it’s around $1600.00. If that 9mm doesn’t need tuning or short stroke then it’s on par I guess.
I still would never buy one though.:P

The ad sez the 9mm is “Taylor tuned” but they don’t give much detail as to exactly what that entails with this model

That could mean a "cut and weld". I have a Comanchero from Taylor's  that I bought 5-6 years ago and had nothing but problems with it. I wound up getting a short stroke kit and a NEW LEVER! It works great now!

Since they are supposed to be producing everything here I would hope it would just be manufactured as a short stroke. All speculation until they actually hit the market
