German Jim
I'm an old man and suffer miserably from CRS and can't remember if I have ever asked this question before. Can reenactor BP be used in rifle and pistol cartridges for our game. Regular BP is getting up there in price, and I was thinking it would be much cheaper to use reenactor BP. I think for the shotgun, reenactor would work and be OK, but I was wondering about the pistols and rifle.
Warden Callaway
It all go bang. Reenactor is very mixed in grain size. You'll have to dip it. Be careful to keep it mixed up.
Kid Rich
Reenactor Is slower burning, produces more smoke and flame. I find my revolvers and rifle need a little cleaning to get through six stages without becoming clunky. Shotgun takes more powder to take KDs down if you happen to be at a match where they are more difficult. kR 2
Rooster Ron Wayne
For Shot gun just use pyrodex powder . It's cheap enough for shotgun .
Lunger Dan
Its fine....all I ever used was reenactor and 5FA grade powder....no problems, no gunked up or "having to clean every stage".....theres a lot of elitist rumors...gun dont care which powder it burns. Brass shell, shotgun shell, cap and ball-all ate it with no worries. Thats the reality...the doom and gloomers just need to be heard. Pyrodex is very corrosive and has ruined more firearms than any other powder. Even if it was free I wouldn’t use it.
Palmetto Traveller
I've used it frequently in my 38s for pistols, rifle and shotgun shells without any problems whatsoever. You gotta love all the smoke and fire.

I would rather save what good powder I have for my Cartridges and use Pyrodex for Shotgun shells then Not be-able too shoot at all .
Warden Callaway
Grafs has their brand back is stock. Looks higher priced than it was but still less than other brands.
