Pat Riot
This is not the first time this has happened. That Commie POS Bonta will do whatever he can to get the stay and a year or two from now there will be an article just like this one. In 2019 Judge Benitez threw this out and for one week (Freedom Week) people were able to buy standard capacity magazines. It lasted only a week before a stay was ordered. It was Benitez who stayed his own order, which he didn't seem to do this time.

Blackwater 53393
I suspect that he stayed it in anticipation of Bruen. Now he has the ammunition to bury the ban!

I don't remember if it was at the request of Becerra/Bonta or in anticipation of the expected appeal.
J.D. Daily
The post Bruen laws are just hoplophobic state governments throwing poop on the wall to see what sticks. Since the state is spending OPM (Other people's Money) they will drag this all the way to SCOTUS. No skin of their back. The fastest way to settle the issue (ban magazine limits is if the 3 judge panel of the 9th Circus upholds the state law. Which will result in the case immediately going to SCOTUS. Otherwise Bonta will ask for en banc review where it is more likely 6 judges picked are rabid anti 2A. You can hope that the 9th won't drag out to the bitter end their delaying tactics by forcing SCOTUS to further define firearms to clearly cover, components & accessories. Similar to why justice Thomas waited to get a solid majority to admonish judges who misinterpret Heller v. DC. That is why the opinion in Bruen is 80 pages long. It won't take 14 years of misinterpreting Bruen, Caetano & Heller to swat down mag limits, assault weapons bans, ATF pistol brace rule, ATF redefinition of DIY firearms, ATF bump stock rule and state definition of sensitive places, hoops to jump through & response to permit submission time as well as fee limit.
