Warden Callaway
Coming home from grocery shopping last week, we met flatbed trucks, one after another, with crushed and folded wind mill blades crudely strapped down. Pb Mark
This reminds me of some technical work done on coal gasification.... Looks good on the surface, but when will we see the complete energy balance? We won't. They are doing some of the DOE future technology of wind power research in my town. Been involved a bit in the past. Green technology will definitely advance. It must. Politicians are mandating it. Just hoping we humans are not mandated to become "Soylent Green".

Warden Callaway
If you can find it and suffer through it, the movie Idiocracy is a little too close to reality.

And yet again people expect a new technology to be 100% developed instantly, mostly because "¥€@#+©®£¢ commies forcing it down our throats." Yeah, the political mandates are male bovine excrement and wildly impractical. But that doesn't mean that the technology shouldn't be developed

I wish I could remember the name of the science fiction novel that is similar. When looking for it I did find https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrison_Bergeron "In the year 2081, the 211th, 212th, and 213th amendments to the Constitution dictate that all Americans are fully equal and not allowed to be smarter, better-looking, or more physically able than anyone else. The Handicapper General's agents enforce the equality laws, forcing citizens to wear "handicaps": masks for those who are too beautiful, earpiece radios for the intelligent that broadcast loud noises meant to disrupt thoughts, and heavy weights for the strong or athletic." https://archive.org/details/HarrisonBergeron Edited September 13 by Subdeacon Joe

A few Concrete plants are using old tires for additional fuel. The furnace temps are high enough that the tires are completely combusted and reduce the virgin fuel costs. The cement industry is also looking at using medical waste as fuel. Seems that most medical waste will burn and the extremely high temperatures used for the production of concrete ensure that any bio hazards are rendered 100% inert. According to one article I read the iron is part of the formula for making Clinker (Cement). The iron in the tires means they have to add less raw iron to the mix.
Warden Callaway
I reported earlier about seeing truck loads of crushed wind mills on the highway. This morning we fell into two more truck loads. Obviously, they are being taken out of use. Being replaced?

Seams that it is cheaper to not do any leading edge preventative maintenance than it is to maintain the rain erosion on the leading edge of the blades. Warden Callaway
Friend near Cider Rapids Iowa says there is a recycling facility15 miles from him. They do so initial separation and grinding then send it on to users who make it into concrete reinforcement.
