DeaconKC
Black gun, silver star by Art Burton was excellent. About the life of Bass Reeves, U.S. Marshal
Red Gauntlet , SASS 60619
Lone Star, by T.R. Fehrenbach. The finest history of Texas, but comprehensive and includes much about the West in general. Really good insights into the Indian tribes, and of the types and groups who made up the Westward migration. Very readable.

Rye Miles #13621
Killing Crazy Horse by Bill O’Reilly, excellent read. I’m reading Killing Lincoln right now.
J-BAR #18287
Blood and Thunder by Hampton Sides. It’s a biography of Kit Carson, who knew everyone and went everywhere in the pre-Civil War west. A Terrible Glory by James Donovan. It is a very thoroughly reseached and readable history of Custer before and at the Little Bighorn.
