Col Del Rio Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Anyone have experience with the Tippmann Rolling Blocks? I'd like to get a 45-70 rifle someday.
El CupAJoe Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I'm a big fan of their paintball guns for certain applications...
Fordyce Beals Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 experience with the Tippmann Rolling Blocks: No But I love rolling blocks, any one know if casting kits or 80% are still available? Fordyce
Michigan Slim Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I've handled a lot of their guns but not that one. Seem to take their business seriously. Nice guns.
John Boy Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 COL, never heard of them but their price is good and the feature descriptions are good too ... https://tippmannarmory.com/rolling-block-45-70/ https://www.shootersforum.com/threads/tippmann-rolling-blocks.149050/
Doc Coles SASS 1188 Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 No offense to Tippmann, they look pretty nice. However, I find it hard to pay more for a reproduction than a good original. Rolling blocks are much cheaper than other period single shots and are pretty widely available. For example, I bought my 1872, 50-70 New York rolling block with a really nice bore for about half the msrp listed on the tippmann website. The European rolling blocks are a good deal as well. You do have to deal with the old calibers, which can be a challenge, but not impossible.
