Capt. James H. Callahan
Title pretty much says it all. Dish Network, new DVR will be a Hopper. I think it's hopeless, hoping someone may know a trick to save all the recordings from the old DVR. Thanks, JHC
Tyrel Cody
Not that I've ever heard of. Probably ought to move the tags into your post since not everyone sees those.
Chili Ron
Howdy, Get both owner manuals and read thru carefully. Sometimes the answer is right there. Im under the impression that anything that you can play can be recorded if things are hooked up right. You might also try some of these copy services. My sister had some good luck with one If you are talking commercial tv programs they might be available from one or more streaming services. I took a damaged computer to Best Buy and they transferred a lot of video to my new computer. Perhaps they might do that for your items? Cat Brules
I was also going to suggest checking with Best Buy. Bring along a notebook. You may need to get some wiring cables with correct connection plugs (RCA plugs?). CB

Just know that the transfer is VERY slow. I set mine up to transfer files over a couple of nights.

Problem is our old DVR is NOT a Hopper, it's older than that. Don't know if it even has a USB, but will investigate. JHC

Major E A Sterner #12916
Get an eternal hard drive and hook it up to your old DVR,follow the on screen instructions to transfer all recordings to the hard drive, once you get the new DVR just hook the hard drive up to it and watch they recordings at your leisure.
