Trailrider #896 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 I pine for a revolver in 56-50 Spencer The Navy Rolling Block pistol M1867 fires a .50 caliber central fire cartridge that is essentially a shortened .50-70. The Army M1871 is similar. IMHO, the Navy is a better choice as it has a smooth-backed grip, whereas the Army model has a sharp hump on the backstrap. I have fired both, and the Navy one is far more comfortable to shoot! Seems to me someone was making revolvers in .45-70 at one time. Sorry, Pard, if a .44 Mangle-em won't do the job, give me a rifle!
