A simple stage that I think might be fun to encounter once a year.

How did the women in the dresses shoot off the horse?

I didn't see how they handled that situation. Maybe they had a side saddle for them?  But one cowgirl took off her outter wear to jump in the tub.

I don't see the problem with running a stage like this maybe once a year. Perfect for our December/Christmas shoot where the scores don't count for annual club standings anyway. Yes, it's fast. Yes, it's boring. But why not let folks burn it down once in a blue moon? Our monthly matches usually have four stages with at least one move per stage (usually two with one move and two with two moves) and two stand and deliver stages. Target count for handguns and rifles is anywhere between two and five per. I try to keep things interesting and even confound em once in a while. Yes, if you shot the "one target" stage more than once a year, it would be blah, blah, blah! Sometimes it IS fun to watch folks overrun themselves and fall apart. Done it myself.

I try to write a stage similar during a monthly match to get our shooters practiced on the speed matches at annuals.  Just one stage once in a while so you can practice at full throttle because you would be surprised how many shooters miss or jack out rounds.  If you practice it once in a while you will shoot smoother while on the clock at someones annual for the speed match.  Several of the shooters were right a stage like this would be very boring if done a lot and very frustrating for shooters running black for sure.  Bottom line is the member writing the stage decides. Most of the time if you have the shooters run regular stages but set it up for movement to a dump target with either rifle or pistol then you get the best of both worlds.  Or a stand and deliver stage with and easy sweep Lawrence Welch or progressive usually gives the "gamers" a chance at mid teens if they are on their A game, heck some of these guys I sling lead with can pull that off in the low teens.  In my opinion anything you do to switch things up would more than likely on an occasional basis be appreciated.  CK

That's part of why it occurred to me as 3 separate targets, moving to shoot at each one with the needed guns instead of just 1 for everything.   Gotta mix it up a little.  :)
