I suspect they will both be capable of hitting a  SASS  target at the distances we shoot, one costs hundreds and the other is  many more  dollars. I would buy the Uberti. and save the extra dollars.

 AND?????????????

Very long.

But very  informational .

A very good comparison of guns .

And Uberti rates higher in quality then you would think it would .

Hmmm ... no Pietta ?? I kinda fast forwarded through the video ... Did he mention that the base pin in the Uberti is .248 and in the Colt and Pietta it is .25??

Annnnnnndddd ... that the Pietta has an ejector rod bushing too ... just like the Colt ... (he called it a locator in the video).

Lotsa differences. <_<

Your base pin information is incorrect, or at least outdated. I have two recent purchase piettas, one from Taylors and one from EMF, and both use uberti base pins. The colt base pins are too big and won’t fit.

Otherwise I agree. He should’ve had a pietta to compare as well.

I think you will find Rugers are .248 as well ... (same diameter as Uberti).

Edit: OK ... I'll admit my guns may be unique (I don't want to promote mis-information) and my only objection to the expert video was I felt it an oversight to not include a Pietta. I was simply trying to throw in a few things he might have discovered if he had done so (obvious things ... no intention to create a challenge).

Anyhow ... first photo is my Great Western II (Pietta) stainless ... (just traded this year for my Rugers so I can't show a .248 Ruger pin).

yikes!! .250 like a Colt ...

second photo below ... a Charles Daly (Pietta) .250

third photo below ... a Uberti Cattleman (might make .248 on the nose if I cleaned the carbon off it).

Yes ... they are all wearing Beretta Stampede grips ... lets not go there!!

Tough crowd.  Lot of guns to shoot and then pull apart let alone video and comment on.  Nothing stopping any of you from reviewing a Pietta.  Get too it now :)

Good point!! Lots of good information in there even if it didn't have "everything" I wanted. A lot of work.

.002 ain't nothing.    I polish pins to turn smooth - not taking any measurements.

I got two Taylor's Smoke Wagon Deluxe that the base pins were polished so much the cylinder would wobble.  I replaced them with my homemade ones.
