Rooster, that was kind of what I was thinking. I have always worn glasses but these past few years I am kind of max'd out on magnification for my glasses so I need all the help I can get. :-)

I have loaded mine with a 300 gr. Speer Plated soft nose bullet to 1,540 fps for use on our big Whitetails , sure does the job....

What powder do you use? Not looking for recipe, as that is frowned upon, just the powder name. I have read that H110 is a popular one. I have no experience with that one.

For mid-range and CAS loads, depending on bullet weight, W231/HP38, Unique or Hodgdon's Universal, 2400 with hotter loads and heavier bullets. Always check the handbooks (several).

You can make mildly hot loads to Cowboy loads with Unique .

I say it all the time , Unique is a Smokless answer to BP.

You can load anything with Unique .

I get these results using a few different powders like H110, AA9, and my favorite..... LilGun.

I shot my new tifle today. Man is it sweet. I shot some cowboy loads and some different jacketed factory rounds including the Leverevoltion rounds and this gun is more accurate than i am with all of them. The faster loads hit point of aim. The cowboy loads shot a little high but nice tight groups! I have a definite keeper on my hands :-)

 

Thanks for the powder advice. Looks I wil be getting out my cookbooks...yeehaw!
