I think a good one would be Slim Pickens One of the great sidekicks and a rodeo star. when he told his family he was going into rodeo completion, his dad told him that would be SLIM PICKENS I looked into that and it was already taken by a SASS member.
Rancocas Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I looked into that and it was already taken by a SASS member. Abilene Slim I also looked it up and this is the reply: -------------------------------------------------- Existing SASS Member Aliases No matches found for Slim Pickens -------------------------------------------------------- If you like that alias maybe a phone call to SASS would work
Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 I found Slim Pickens on the wire members list. All that really matters is what the staff says when you call them on the phone. Lotsa names taken that don't appear on a wire search. Regardless, I'm really happy with Abilene!

Abilene Slim SASS 81783 Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 I thought I recognized your face. Hope it wasn't in the post office!
Dusty Wyatt Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, I lagged on renewing my membership and got knocked off the wire when the new pard logged on. Lost my original post count and start date. Didn't mind losing the alias. Lesson learned, It will teach me to stay current.

I've never been late with renewing but I lost my original date of membershipp AND post count. Must've been someting I said about Wranglers.
Volga Vigilante Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 At first I thought you might be talking about my oldest buckaroo South Paw Slim. My brother, the helpful type, thought I should go with North Paw Thick
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Hi Folks, This is another example of a pro to a Life membership, especially if you are young. When I started, age 50, I calculated how long it would take for a Life membership to pay off in annual memberships. They were $400 at that time and the yearly fee was $35. So, $400/$35 = 11.4 years. At that rate it would be paid for when I turned 61. I am a Silver Senior now. When the annual fee went up to $45, it would have been even sooner. For your consideration, if I am correct, the Life is $700 and the annual is $45 now. So $700/$45 = 15.5 years. Regards, AM
