Yeah, but, and there is always that pesky but. I wonder how many cheap shotguns will be on the black market.

One thing that the gun community is overlooking is that a large segment of our society is not prepared

mentally, to physically defend themselves, until it is too late. A loaded gun will be of little value to them.

In fact it may even be a detriment.

I guess my opinion is that there are SHEEP and there are SHEPHERDS.

SHEEP are SHEEP

SHEPHERDS come in two varieties, GOOD SHEPHERDS and BAD SHEPHERDS.

I figured out a long time ago, that one can not fix problems by throwing money at them.

It may delay the eventual outcome, but in the end the problem will prevail.

A wise person will seize the issue and deal with it with it is first discovered.

That is the view from my fence rail.

I listened to Shaun McClusky on Jon Justice, (our local talk show host), talk about this yesterday.

It's a program started by a guy in Houston, I think.

To get in on this, one must live in a high crime neighborhood, as voted by the residents of the neighborhood. If selected, the winner must pass the standard NICS check, and pass a training course.

The shotgun will be a SINGLE SHOT, (H&R?).

I don't think many sheep will go through all that just to cower in their homes.

Interesting, I was hoping a Arizonian would weigh in on this. Single shot???? Really?? What they couldn't afford at least a double??

Thanks, Rye

I'm thinking mainly cost, and simplicity. Though as of yesterday, he had raised $12,000, in 48 hours.

Since this is for those who don't already have access to a gun, a single shot makes sense to start with.

Heard on the news this mornin (in Tucson) that there's quite an uproar about this. All coming from the Democrats. Go figure.
