Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Yeah, but, and there is always that pesky but. I wonder how many cheap shotguns will be on the black market. One thing that the gun community is overlooking is that a large segment of our society is not prepared mentally, to physically defend themselves, until it is too late. A loaded gun will be of little value to them. In fact it may even be a detriment. I guess my opinion is that there are SHEEP and there are SHEPHERDS. SHEEP are SHEEP SHEPHERDS come in two varieties, GOOD SHEPHERDS and BAD SHEPHERDS. I figured out a long time ago, that one can not fix problems by throwing money at them. It may delay the eventual outcome, but in the end the problem will prevail. A wise person will seize the issue and deal with it with it is first discovered. That is the view from my fence rail. Sgt. C.J. Sabre, SASS #46770
I listened to Shaun McClusky on Jon Justice, (our local talk show host), talk about this yesterday. It's a program started by a guy in Houston, I think. To get in on this, one must live in a high crime neighborhood, as voted by the residents of the neighborhood. If selected, the winner must pass the standard NICS check, and pass a training course. The shotgun will be a SINGLE SHOT, (H&R?). I don't think many sheep will go through all that just to cower in their homes.
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Maybe not, but the money will be spent. Somebody is going to have to pay. When money is involved, it seems to bring out the worst in some people.

What they couldn't afford at least a double?? Thanks, Rye

What they couldn't afford at least a double?? Thanks, Rye I'm thinking mainly cost, and simplicity. Though as of yesterday, he had raised $12,000, in 48 hours. Since this is for those who don't already have access to a gun, a single shot makes sense to start with. Here is a link to it. http://www.armedcitizenproject.org/ACP-Tucson.html
