Two reasons Canada is not on this list.

Canada does allow some gun ownership.

Canada would be at 2.13 per 100,000.

--------

United Kingdon is at .25 per 100,000.

------------

The list combines all gun related deaths.

Suicides, accidental, homicides, unknown.

Cliff, interesting stats, but they can easily be misinterpreted. The stats that are per 100k residents are more telling to me. Further, many may point to stats like this that only paint a small part of the picture, violent crimes of all types, with all weapons, not just guns are part of the big picture.

What is the time frame..."murders per 100,000 per (month, day, year, what?)

J-Bar, I don't know, but the bigger issue would be that there is a 100% ban on guns so therefore only the government has guns.

The stats I looked at for the Canada & UK were from the WHO 2010. The numbers are for a 0ne year time frame.

The link for the by country list is "Showing latest available data."

What ever that means.

I agree statistics can be manipulated to show any thing at any time you want.

Like the news reported "O" won the election but can we be sure the results are true or manipulated?

Nor does the Phillipines... IPSC (USPSA) competitions are regularly held there.....same for Russia

Nor does Thailand....

I suspect quite a few others are the same...

Is someone deader because they were killed by a gun?

Of course they are. And their death is more painful as well. You didn't know?

For a comparison of the UK and USA check this John Lott page

In reading the article, one thing our spokes people have got to start doing is asking who will attend a "TV show" or public session/meeting, before they agree to attend. And if the list of attendees changes...have a plan of action. Otherwise its just a public trashing.
