Brother King, SASS #69031
He always said that he couldn't die because it would be bad for his image. Jack LaLanne was an inspiration to me both as a kid and as an adult. RIP... a true pioneer. He had the largest chain of health clubs in the US and Europe and sold them to Bally Fitness years ago. He and his wife are proof of what a difference the daily choices of fitness and nutrition can make for anyone.
Subdeacon Joe
Dang. I remember working out to him when I was a kid. A real little kid. And some of his boat towing exhibitions.

Grizzly Dave
OK, I debated posting anything at all, but here goes... First, to all who feel a sense of loss, you have my condolences. Second, he was a man, who by many appearances lived his dream to the ripe old age of 96, to me that is not sad. Third, like JHC said, we all are going to die. Your tombstone will read <birth date> - <death date> make the best of the "-". I think I'll stop right there. Grizz
Swifty Morgan
Griz is right about one thing! It ain't the day your born or the day you die... It's the dash in between that matters!!! Grizz That he lived a great life is good...of course we are all going to pass on...and the fact that America has lost another fantastic personality is sad. GG ~ USA flag. That Masked Man
Jack LaLanne was an inspiration to many, and lived his life as a shining example for the rest of us. After neglecting my own health for the first 40 years of my life, I for one am thankful for Jack LaLanne and the good common sense advice he lived his life by and shared with others. He is a great example of the kind of man who can be polite and kind but still successful, always full of energy and helpful to others. Jack's longevity and health made him "living proof" of the truth of what he said and did. So, R.I.P. to one of the "good guys" that seem to be in short supply nowadays.
