I blame them for the demise of my loading room. I have so many Slippery Bullets in different calibers that is difficult to move about.

Our club only shoots revolvers. So, one needs five revolvers. I use my regular holstered revolvers for the revolvers, two 7 1/2 inch revolvers for the rifle and a 7 1/2 inch for the shotgun. We have a JW Charity Match in November and donate the funds to the local community to assist with purchasing Christmas Gifts for the local families.

If the line is posted where I can easily see it, I say it with enthusiasm. If not, I generally say, "Let the fun begin."

Cody Dixon/Plainsman Rifle Sights

I shot an H&R Buffalo Classic in 45-70, I called it a thumper. As I aged, I switched to an H&R Target Classic in 38-55. It recoils the same as a 30-30. The 38-55 cartridge was actually the forerunner of the 30-30 cartridge. Of course, Harrington & Richardson sold out to Marlin. Then Marlin was acquired by Remington, and we all know what happened to Remington. So, the manufacturing of these rifles has ceased. I still like and shoot my Target Classic. There are still some used ones floating around out there. -
If it is priced right, go for it. I have several Mec 600 jrs and they do what they are supposed to do. It never hurts to have a backup plan.

For Sale: H&R Model 1871 Buffalo Classic

I am surprised to see a tang mounted Lee Shaver Economy Long Range Soule sight mounted on one of these rifles. The wood on these tangs is not very deep. The sight screws tend to run into the mounting bolt. This one looks to be mounted correctly.- 3 replies

I am no Marlin expert and never really looked at his rifle that closely, I just took his word for it. -
Marlin 336 in .44 Magnum

My buddy has shot one for years, Marlin 44mag. That is the only Marlin model I can remember seeing in stainless steel. -
My brother, an Underwater Weapons Expert, spent several years stationed there while in the Navy. He was assigned to the USS Proteus, a Sub Tender, as Guam is one location where our submarines go for restocking and service. The USS Proteus is like one big machine shop. Several years ago, it was determined that the ship needed to be larger, so they cut it in half and added a section to the hull. the Proteus normally stays in port and the subs come to it for service. The only time my brother went to sea on it was during a typhoon. It went out to ride out the storm. He said he had never been sicker. He lived off-base and rented two houses connected with a breezeway. He rented the other half to a young couple there with the Navy. He owned a Ford sedan which he rented out to sailors for the weekend. He also had a homemade ice cream machine which the sailors liked to take to the beach. He didn't shoot cowboy, but said he played a lot of table tennis while there. He liked the slower life of being stationed in Guam. I know, off target, but I just wanted to share.

Thats the island that one US Senator was against funding for something for Guam as it might cause the island to tip over?

Yes, these are nice shotguns. I have had a hammerless model, imported by CZ, for sale on TUSCO'S newsletter for several months. These come with each section in a blue bag, and it all comes in a hard case. I decided to stay with my original Stoeger as it takes the abuse and keeps on ticking.

Well, I was going to a shoot today.

This too will pass. Luckily no one was injured. Now take your time with the clean-up. We don't any follow-up injuries.
