  1. Mine was delivered today by 11 am. Do not panic! Historically, slots will open up as the summer and fall progresses.
  2. I used to own a Miroku Winchester. They are high-quality rifles. They have a shorter stroke from the factory, about halfway between a Uberti factory stroke and a short stroke kit. If you plan on playing in NCOWS and SASS, be aware that NCOWS doesn't allow the Miroku Winchesters because they are already shorter stroked than the originals.
  3. I know someone who used to work in Hollywood with some of the stars. They would have the star's pistol cocked and do things to cover that fact. He specifically talked about a movie with Burt Lancaster in which this was the case. Sometimes, the person would have a fringed-sleeved shirt/coat so that the fringe covered the hammer. It was all about going faster on camera. Some actors practiced drawing in front of mirrors to see how "cool" a pose would look on camera. It's all for entertainment.
  4. There is a guy on Gunbroker that makes brass that accepts the power loads used in power actuated tools. The brass is reusable. I used 32 caliber round balls but you can also use regular heeled bullets. You can buy kits that have everything in it at Dixie Gunworks.
  5. If you start looking at who is anti-gun, the list gets long. Many will need to change how they shop, where they eat, where they watch movies, who they use for phone coverage, where they get healthcare, and on and on. A biggie is YUM Foods. All of these companies are anti-gun in some manner. 20/20 Vision A&M Records AlleyCorp Alphabet, Inc. 6. I would say Tammy misspoke. Many manufacturers outsource work, especially with the “just in time” manufacturing business model. If I had to guess, they outsourced some of the barrel manufacturing. The east plant may operate differently than the Prescott Plant. But this is interesting information. GFM really needs to finish their website as much of the Wordpress template is still present.
  7. How about we use the email for the white house? I know; I'll use Mark Kelly's email.
  8. My memories were of her complaining about lifting the heavy baskets of barrels, her bringing home the seconds list of guns employees could buy at a discount, and then her picking my new (seconds) gun to pieces as she pointed out all the reasons it was on the seconds list. Good times…
  9. Considering my wife used to work at the Prescott plant and worked on barrels and other parts, I am curious where you got this information.
  10. There is usually a fee associated with using payment apps like there is a fee for using a credit card. It generally is 3%, which the seller or club pays. The sender doesn't pay it unless the club or seller adds it to the cost. You find the same thing if you buy on Gunbroker. Local gunshops here also charge 3% for using a credit card, as the CC companies charge them. I have not seen a payment app provide the seller/club with any numbers to store any more than Walmart saves them.
  11. I like the ability to pay online. It's one less hurdle I have to overcome. It's a 25-minute drive to my mailbox and back. It's a 100-minute drive to the USPO and back. If I happen to be in town for work, it adds 15 minutes to run by the USPO. The same for a MO. As far as online payments, I believe Stripe and Square are two non-PayPal options.
  12. If they don't take CCs, they are a scam. If you don't know the person personally, don't use Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, or any other cash app.
  13. OMG, here comes the never FB posts. I would say 80% of the older folks I know 50s, 60s, 70s have a FB account. Yes, I know FB is anti-gun. Think of it as the French Resistance using the Nazi media to get messages to the Allies.
  14. Those look too symmetrical and fine to be a bulge. They look like machining marks. The guns I have seen with a bulge appear to have a dark ring when viewed with a naked eye as Larsen described. And this pistol has a hammer forged barrel, not button drawn or cut. There are videos on YT showing the process.
  15. IAB had good years and bad years. Taylor's used to sell them. The bad years were towards the end of their run. Many have come to feel IAB stands for It's Always Broken.
  16. I sold a few guns to a store back in Indiana that had seen little use. I had kept the boxes, plastic bags, and hang tags, so they went with the guns. I sold them as used to the shop. They marked them as new, so I suspect something like that has happened. That doesn't look like rust. As others have said, it looks like copper, which should come out if you use the right cleaner.
  17. And once again folks are walking all over someone’s ad. Moderator, can you remove the negative comments?
  18. That's double what it was in 2020 and half what it was in 2022.
  19. If it is the Scarlett Mask Society by Martinsville, @Raton Rick is a member. I used to be a member. You will enjoy it.
  20. You live in NCOWS country. I recommend along with SASS you check out the NCOWS clubs in your area.
  21. Well, that's unexpected. So now what? SUV Ryder? Pickup Ryder? Next up will be all those S&W revolvers!
