  1. Heritage Arms is partnering with the CMP to offer an all new M1 Garand with a forged receiver. https://thecmp.org/introducing-the-m1-garand-by-cmp-a-new-chapter-begins/
  2. I want as much clarity as possible. If we are a third the way through a stage and we had to stop because someone shot differently than we all thought was allowed, clarity was not given. I miss the stories and the lines. I do find the vitriol frustrating.
  3. In most cases a little work with a Zoom Spout oiler and some hand tools will get most fractional hp motors working again.
  4. You can buy plain acrylic rods on Amazon or eBay.
  5. I do it the way SS described and have no issues.
  6. Check Tandy Leather. https://tandyleather.com/ You should deglaze to remove the finish. I recommend oil dyes rather than alcohol dyes. Then, you have to refinish the surface. I like leather balm. You could use saddle lac instead of leather balm. All of this is going to add up to $50 or more.
  7. If you have one of the Colt Commemoratives from the 1960s-1970s, such as the state models, does it have a staked in recoil plate or just a hole in the frame? I am referring to centerfire only.

    BEWARE, Scammer

They will most likely block your number.
  9. They serve a dual purpose. I use mine to settle powder if cases are extra full.
  10. Your photos are not working.

I use Red Dot for my C45S loads and many other loads when I am playing with new pistol calibers. Red Dot data goes back fifty or more years if you look in old manuals. I used to use it in 38 Special 40 years ago.
  12. This is the last thing the poster had to say: "I was at a booth and a booth a couple down had a bunch of commotion. I saw a case up on the counter and went to see what every was gathering over. The revolver was in there and he brought it out to show it around a little bit and then more people started gathering and folks started trying to take pictures and he said no pictures and put it back in the case. After the crowd subsided a little bit, he took it out so I could check it out and told me just a few things. People started gathering again so he put it back away. The person who had it was a friend of the guy who was working at one of the other booths. So it really wasn’t on display at the show at all is why there’s nothing about it anywhere other than a few little private conversations on Reddit that contacted me." It doesn't sound like the people/person with the gun had a booth. The fact that they didn't want photos taken or notoriety, but were taking orders seems very odd.
  13. A person posted in another forum that he saw a couple of guys at the NRA show with an extremely nice Colt SAA copy. The story is that they were past Colt employees who were tooling up to offer a made-in-USA SAA clone, better done than what comes from the Colt Custom Shop. He was told they were taking orders for delivery in 2026, but he didn't get the name of the company. He said it was NOT Standard Mfg. Did you see such a thing and get a name while there? This sounds like another Texas Longhorn Arms story.
  14. I work with a guy who lives in New River, and his sons have found plenty on that volcano dome.
  15. I am going in for knee replacement surgery in two weeks, and I am being told a variety of probable recuperation times. I plan on having the second one done as soon as possible after the first, so there will be no rattlesnake hunting for me this summer. I told my wife that she would need to jump out of the car and grab them as we were driving, and she made it clear that would not be happening. Some of you have asked to be on the list when I get some made. I am well stocked to make my rattlesnake vertebrae hatbands if you want one.
  16. I am too tired to wade into what may be grandfathered or not. I think a manufacturer would take the safe route and make it 50-state compliant.
  17. I don't know. Colorado just made some pretty significant changes. The game pieces keep moving on magazine capacity laws across the country. The magazine plug makes sense. I can certainly ask the next time I speak with the Taylor reps.
  18. Taylor's & Company is its own outlet. The magazine holds ten, I suspect, to prevent it from being flagged in low-capacity magazine states.
  19. Alan Harton in Texas can rebuild the hammer notches and time the gun perfectly. He did a Bisley for me about four years ago. Normally, you can just sent the hammer for repair, but he said the Bisley version requires extra work and the entire gun is needed.
  20. Agreed. The timing is still off and causing a line. But Eddie Janis is very well known for doing a great action job, but he died a few years back, so I suspect someone else at Peacemaker Specialties did the action job. Or, the person in the video has been fanning the revolver after he got it back. Fanning will rapidly cause timing issues.
  21. Quick draw artist Jim Martin has told me repeatedly that anyone can put new parts in a Colt, but it takes experience to make them work together properly. Unfortunately, Jim has put down his tools and no longer takes work.
