  1. A couple of my buddies dive and they swear by the Benchmade Dive knives. They can be had for around $100 on Amazon or Ebay. The yellow handled Benchmade is the one that one of my friend's says he likes as he has dropped his and had to find it on the bottom. I guess he lost one or two that way. I do not dive so I am only going by what my friends said. http://www.benchmade.com/h2o-fixed-family.html
  2. I worked for the MTA in Los Angeles. HR there is, shall we say, "special"... I became a Shell Back on my ship's return to the US after sitting in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf during the "Iran Hostage Crisis"....or what we called "Gonzo Station". I caught my ship in the Philippines after they had been there for a few months. When the Virginia left Norfolk to go to the IO There were about 30 Shell Backs and about 300 Wogs. When I came across the Equator there were about 300 Shell Backs and 30 Pollywogs. Boy, did I get my rearend beat! It didn't help that on the day before there was a Shell Back meeting on the fantail and me and a few of my buddies threw tomatoes and what was left of the fresh eggs at all the Shell Backs from the O1 level...that and we stole about 100 of the shillelaghs that they had cut up from fire hoses and threw them over the side. Me and my buddies got real special treatment the next day...HAHAHAHA
  3. I watched a whole 10 minutes of this movie before I shut it off a couple of years ago.
  4. Sad. RIP Carrie Fisher.
  5. Wow, you all are way better than Google Thank you. I will look into these. I will have to wait until tonight because the "censors" at work won't let me access the sites...I am lucky I get away with coming here...nudge, nudge, wink, wink.. Trailrider, thank you for taking the time. I will think about what you said above. Maybe a good holster might work but I am leaning toward the chest rig. I know that I do not want to carry using my Cowboy rig(s). I like your point about the open bottomed holster. This rig / holster set up would be for walking, riding the motorcycle and going off roading in my truck. I used to carry a short barreled .357 when out and about in NC but the .357 just ain't enough juice for some of the critters one may encounter here in the Northwest. I will not be horseback so the clippity clop, up and and down motion will not be bouncing the gun against my rib cage. I want to be able to draw the gun seated in my truck or on the bike with ease. Also, when I hunt I usually do not carry a back pack. I carry pack belt set up that restricts what I can have around my waist. I will look at all your suggestions tonight when Big Brother isn't watching...
  6. Very nice. Thanks.
  7. That is Awesome...I know, I know, and overused word but it is...Awesome. Thanks for sharing, Joe.
  8. I have been looking for a way to carry one of my Vaqueros while out hunting and motorcycling the back roads and trails. I thought about a shoulder rig or a cross-draw holster but I am nor sure that would work for me. Has anyone ever tried one of those "chest" rigs for carrying a big revolver and if so, what rig and how did it work for you? Thank you, Pat Riot
  9. Glad you are back, Pale Wolf. Knee-mail does work. Please follow the Doc's orders and get all the way back on your feet. Kindest Regards, Pat Riot
  10. Ha! Googled it: https://www.amazon.com/WARNING-Avoid-Injury-vinyl-sticker/dp/B00M3F6PWM Good ol' Amazon
  11. Great to see that you're back! Now where can I get one of those posters? :-)
  12. At first I thought "Man, I have got to get to Taco Bell" and then it dawned on me...I am a little slow on the uptake sometimes. :-) That is a really nice gift, Mr. Avenger. Is that stainless or nickel? It looks great.
  13. I got some nice things but the best gift was was daughter, son-in-law and grandson came to visit. That was the best gift.
  14. Haha...probably :-)
  15. Sorry...got a little carried away...
  16. Dog tags were issued in 1979 in the Navy. I still have mine. I am a Shell Back as well and I still have my signed and sealed certificate framed and on display in my home. I hung it at work for a while in the early 2000's in L.A. I got a complaint from HR to take it down as the topless mermaid was offensive. I got it re-framed in a much bigger more gawdy frame and mounted it right inside my office door for all to see visited me there. I told HR to bring me up on charges...nothing happened. I am sure the Shell Back initiation is nothing like it was when I was in. Now they probably make lots of noise and serve cookies and kool-aid. Especially with that pansy of a CNO and that fruit-cup Sec'y of the Navy. They oughta be keel-hauled...twice...but that's just my opinion. I am sure they are really nice guys...if you like PC morons that are men in name only. Pat Riot
  17. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/phyton That is a really big plant stem...
  18. Santa (my wife) bought me a new electronic toy for Christmas. A Samsung Chrome Book. It's a mini laptop. Now I don't have to use my iPhone to come on the SASS Wire / Saloon I have a PC but I hate that thing. This is much better for what I do on the interwebs. This thing is super cool! I like it...I like it A LOT
  19. I wondered how he was going t do that. Good job on his part. I'll bet that elk's ears rang after that. When I was 16 I freed a white tale from a bunch of brambles. A pack of dogs ran it into a pile of snow covered vines and brambles and it's legs were all hung up. I ran the dogs off and then used my coat to cover the deer's eyes by wrapping it around it's head and antlers. That's a trick I learned from Marlin Perkins on TV. I tugged and pulled the deer by his antlers and got him free. As soon as he was clear I let go of his antlers. As I was pulling on my jacket to free his vision and get my jacket back and darned if he didn't take off like a shot as soon as he could see. I watched him bound off with my coat tangled in his antlers. I lost a coat but gained a fantastic experience. Good on that hunter for saving this animal.
  20. So, I guess we still have to post photos in an on line service to post them here... I tried reading through y'all's posts here and attaching a photo (jpeg) using what I gathered you all were doing and nothing. I tried clicking the "attach image" icon in the tool bar above and it requires a URL. I tried clicking on the "paste" icon above and dropping the photo in that way and nothing. Perhaps we, non admin types, cannot do this at all at this point. Not complaining, just letting you know...or perhaps I am not telling you anything new. Thank you and Merry Christmas Pat Riot
  21. Lumpy is correct about the load and it's use in the S&W Model 52. That stuff looks pretty old. I wouldn't shoot it.
  22. That is very nice. Happy shooting.
  23. That's good news! :-) I pray all goes well for your second procedure. Dr. Searight? That's hilarious. I knew a kid in the Navy named Seaman. Good Luck and I hope you have great success after your surgery taking on those steel bad guys :-)
  24. And all through the Saloon...
