  1. Are these black micarta or wood laminate? (Very interested if micarta!)
  2. I expect there will be more changes/discontinued products from RCBS now that they have a new owner...
  3. Like it was mentioned above, cas folk wear just about any kind of knife; it's not a period correct game. Screw knives came into being for cas to clean jams, stuck caps etc. As for period correct "cowboy era" utility knives (roughly 1860-1900 for cas), look at green river/Russell knives for fixed blades (their butcher, hunter, and dadley styles), English/Sheffield made small clip or spear pointed fixed blades (5-6 inch blades) and especially pocket knives; barlow style, two blade and single blade jack, etc. As guns/ammunition became more reliable, knives shrank in size and their purpose changed from fighting/self defense to a more utility role.
  4. How about putting the original springs back in it and seeing how it works?
  5. I think President Reagan handled the press, speeches, opponents, debates etc so well, because he trained in and survived a ruthless Hollywood. He was a long time survivor in a 'grind them up, spit them out' system for decades and learned how to handle reporters, paparazzi, co-workers, studio company people etc who could be cruel, vindictive and tricky and out to get him. Being SAG president and then CA governor injected even more of the nasty political aspect and allowed him to polish those skills to a razor's gleaming edge. I can't think of another politician in my life time that did as well verbally as he did with those out to get him.
  6. Hi all! Took these in on a deal and don't have a use for them. They came off an old model/large frame Ruger Vaquero and fit quite nicely, I might add, unlike alot of Altamont grips these days! Look to be in pretty new shape, and come with a screw. $35 shipped to your door; USPS MO or personal check ok if SASS member! (They are a bit redder in person than the pics show.)--SOLD
  7. Hi all! Have decided to down size and this gem is now for sale! A lovely blued Springfield Armory all STEEL Ultra compact 1911 in 45 ACP. This started as a mil-spec model, but I sent it back this past year to Springfield for up-graded sights; they did a fine job! The front has a green tritium inset as well; much more visible and shootable, I might add! I also added VZ custom grips (you will get factory plastic grips too). It will also come with Crimson trace laser grips (you will need to supply the batteries and tiny allen wrench), and a total of FIFTEEN Springfield factory magazines (each holds 6 rounds)! Several plastic take-down clips will come as well, also from Springfield. It has been well taken care of and gently used (carried more than shot), no patina/corrosion, blueing is fine and it shoots well! Will come with the hard case you see in the pic. Last, but not least, you will get two OWB leather holsters for it; one brown and one black, so you can match your outfit! All this can be yours for $875 shipped from my FFL to your FFL! USPS MO please!--SOLD!
  8. I read the design on the ships was called 'razzle dazzle' in the US.
  9. Rose Records (bought out by Tower Records, who then also went out of business...) Both of these were favorite places of mine.
  10. Hi all! A LGS has some of this Winchester powder on sale; was wondering if anyone uses it for CAS; 38 spec, 44 spec, 45 colt.
  11. Hi all! Was at a LGS yesterday and picked up an assortment of used brass that they had taken in from somebody's estate. Included was a pile of 38 special brass. I tumbled it and it looks pretty nice, although I don't know how many times it's been reloaded. Nonetheless, I think it would be a good starter pile for someone trying to get into reloading! My silly scale says it's about 10 pounds in this gallon size plastic bag, although I'm not sure that's right! Still it looks like quite a bit! (I will separate it into two bags for shipping). I will also throw in a spare RCBS powder trickler as well. I'd like newbie reloaders to have first chance at this if that is ok with the pards here! How about $35 plus $16 shipping (that's the price of a USPS medium flat rate box these days)? USPS MO or personal check ok if SASS member!
