  1. Hotter than a freshly woopee'd fox in a forest fire!
  2. Got my eyes done a few years back, would say the surgery had a very positive effect on seeing the front sight.
  3. You could try shooting sporting clays or skeet with it. Nothing beats round count for breaking in a gun work by any of a number of sass legendary gunsmith excepted
  4. Getting 25 person posses thru 4 stages n the allotted time would be rather problematic if we waited to police brass for every shooter. If posse on the 17 to 20 person range may not have folks available. I really don't mind giving the boy scouts a few bucks
  5. congrats why am I not surprised?
  6. Nothing actually wrong with pyrodex it will go bang BUT it is more corrosive than actual Holy Black. Pretend you are in Chicago and clean early and clean often as it will cause rust.
  7. So you have an approximate date the 30 inch version will be available?
  8. Great gun good price if I did not already have two I would be your huckleberry but BTT as they say

The Bitterroot Valley in western mt is beautiful and has great fishing Montana is huge over 600 miles east to west on Highway 2 near the Canadian Line. Yellowstone is another must
  10. I started on a lee load all back in about 1994-5 used it for about 5 years something got out of wack on it. About the time it needed repair I inherited a mec Jr have been running that sine early 2000 it has to be 35 years old still going strong added 7/8 and 1oz charge bars as it came with 1-1/8. I did get a 6 point crimp starter which I swap with my 20 guage mec Jr when hulls demand
  11. if shooting reclaimed shot make sure it is clean. I got some that was dirty / dusty once a lot of bridging and associated spilling of shot. Spent more on aspirin for the headaches than $ saved over cost of new shot.
  12. Years ago when stationed in Germany I visited the US Cemetery in Luxemburg, visited Patton' Grave then proceeded on a self guided Bridge Too Far tour starting where XXX initiated their attack south of Son and ending at the Hotel featured in the movie crossing all the bridges. I visited US Cemeteries and also a German war Cemetery in the area. I was initially surprised that I had the same somber feeling in the German Cemetery as I always get in a US Military Cemetery. On reflection it should not have come as a surprise as they were also soldiers doing their duty. I suspect had I visited an SS Cemetery I would not have felt that way.
  13. Had I know white JB weld existed that would have been my choice as I have used JB weld to repair broken knife handles, grey did not match the color but got is shaped perfectly once set
  14. Some of that white marble repair epoxy that is used to repair bath countertops might work
  15. Today is the saddest day of the year the bright star of the day is that there are those willing to give their all to preserve this nation. O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation! Blest with vict'ry and peace may the heav'n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto - "In God is our trust," And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
  16. Think with the Coyote Cap guns you can fully stoke for wild bunch as well
  17. years ago in a plainsman match I loaded 2 cc FFG with 2 cc walnut media on top seated a .457 (ruger old army ) round ball seated just past the equator and roll crimped in place from rolling block would shoot 2 inch groups at 50 yards. Load 2 dummies using all filler and see if they will feed properly in the 86
  18. Thanks for the tip, happily all the offending shot has been loaded or spilled next time will use the trick
  19. MEC JR may have just got some really dirty shot as it was really dusty would billow when poured from coffee can to can
  20. Makes good ballast for a lead sled. Ask around some one may well be willing to swap 1 for 1 for 7.5-9 bird shot.
  21. With all the bridging I got from using reclaimed in 20 gauge the aspirin necessary for the headaches associated with picking up spilled shot ended up costing more than if I had bought new shot. I got some bridging and spilled shot loading 12 guage as well.
  22. listen to him and use the rope and pulley my doc had me use it before discharge from hospital. My brother in law had a doc that was keep arm in sling for 6 weeks then start passive range of motion lots of pain and adhesions. My doc was use the pulley system for range of motion starting day 1 and PT starting 1 month out passive intially then active after a period of time. I had virtually no pain did not take any of the prescribed pain meds after first night home. I listened to doc and did not shoot for 6 months arm works great great being relative still lack strength to hold 7.5 inch old vaquero 44 mags up one handed for more than one stage so shoot 2 handed these days other than double dualist. Can pull that off with .32 hrm single sixes but have not shot a match with them.
  23. my shoulders don't allow me to hoot anything heavier than 4.5 inch single-six one handed. of the longer barrel 5.5 are easier to draw having said that I like the longer sight radius of 7.5 in. I started with 7.5 inch original Vaqueros in 44 mag. Basically handle all lengths you will know what you like nearly all of us have enough guns to allow you to shoot a match or two with our guns to help u decide
