  1. Rooster, as others have said find a good surgeon but putting it off can really present problems the longer you wait. My rods have been in for 30+ years and had I not had it done I wouldn’t be around, they gave me 6-9 months without the surgery. I still experience back pain, especially if I over do it but you learn in time what your limitations are and how to avoid it.
  2. Funny you should mention that, at Yuma for the Territorial Prison Break I was listening to Centerfold by the J Geils band and I thought that would make a great alias. Now finding someone to fit the alias might be hard to do.
  3. Yours looks a lot like mine. I had it done in June of 1992, lots of things have changed since then procedural wise but your instrumentation looks very similar to mine.
  4. Original Lumpy Grits can probably answer all of your questions. He’s a big BPCR guy.

    Green leather?

You may not remember Tupelo Flash, but he used to be the host of Cowboys TV many years ago. He had me build him a gun cart and he wanted green leather seats. Double Diamond, the leatherworker that has done nearly every gun cart seat that I’ve ever built, found some very nice looking green leather. He got the seats done and I installed them and the cart looked great. After Tupelo used it for a few matches and it was out in the sun awhile the green leather took on a really ugly brown color. Well he found some southwest style woven fabric and Double Diamond reupholstered the seats with that. I guess what I’m saying is make sure whatever leather that you select is able to maintain it’s color long term.
  6. I saw Jim and his wife at the SASS Western Regional in August. He repaired a couple of Winchester 1897’s for me and we visited a little. I believe he told me that he’s 86 years old, or there abouts and still a one man and one woman operation. I believe he’s been working with a couple of cowboys teaching them the trade. Not sure how to answer the parts question, but he did seem to have a lot of work and was getting things fixed.
  7. Might try running a Want To Buy ad in the Wire Classifieds, there’s a good chance someone will have the parts that you need. As I M says it’s an easy conversion.
