For many Marlin owners, the 'JM' marking means its an original Marlin. Supposedly, none of the Remington produced 'Marlins' ever had that marking. I have seen original Marlins without such a marking. ..........Widder

Its my understanding that a MDQ on side match day is ONLY for that day, but the MDQ is not carried over to the main match, assuming this is approved by the Match Director/club. BUT..... a MDQ on the 1st day of a multiple day match IS for the complete match. Is my understanding correct? ..........Widder

That question also crossed my mind. It would have been easier to just put 'Guns'. or 'Firearms'. ..........Widder

Wouldn't you know it....... just when TN Williams was planning to put up his Halloween decorations, it snows. So sad! ..........Widder

I wonder WHY the sign says 'Guns, Pistols' instead of 'Rifles, Pistols'. ..........Widder

I recently checked out a few of their YouTube videos. They were very entertaining and Larry was a darn good guitar picker and showman. RIP Larry and Lorrie. ..........Widder -

If your scratch/cut was from the Manura vine, which grows in the tops of oak trees, its possible you could get Hypocondriactism from bacteria in the docs mouth. This happened to TN Williams a few years back and it effected his left hand middle finger, especially when he's driving in heavy traffic. ..........Widder

As many a great shooter has told us......... TRANSITIONS. Practice your transitions. For me personally, one of the gremlins that seems to bite me more often in a match is reholstering my pistols SMOOTHLY and quickly. We're all a little different and we all have weaknesses and strength. And because reholstering is a MUST on every stage, I want to make it a fast and smooth operation for me. And as a GF, its a two headed gremlin. Mileage varies. Good Luck pard. ..........Widder

These low serial numbered IAC 'CowBoy' models are great 97's. I own 3 of them or else I would probably make Ace a good offer on it. They are tough and function like we want them to function. Mine have given me carefree service. Good luck to someone.......... Chicken George may be the lucky one. ..........Widder

I thought about applying but most of the job requires working during Cowboy shoots on Saturday. ..........Widder -

1. Sometimes its a high primer. Primers are needed to be seated slightly below the rim. If they are seated 'flush', this can give inconsistent ignition. 2. Also, as a shooter gets faster with working their lever rifles, its possible you are working the lever just as the hammer is able to COMPLETELY fall and strike the firing pin with full force. The faster you can work the action..... the faster the hammer needs to fall. 3. your hammer spring may be a tad weaker than before. ..........Widder

Marlin action work

I've handled both Longhunter's and Slater's Marlins and both do top notch rifle work and both are great to work with. You won't go wrong with either. Best regards ..........Widder -

And the suspects are.....

My neighbor had a cat one time that ONLY bit the head off of mice/rats and left the body in the driveway. Apparently, the cat either knawed on the head/brain for taste, and/or carried the head to the owners front porch to show proof of a kill. Its not ordinary, But some animal behavior is really contrary to some of our beliefs in their crazy personalities. ..........Widder -
In 2023, The JEDI Council had two outstanding folks that caught our attention among our nominees for JEDI GF of the YEAR. As previously announced, we had a LADY GF in Scarlett Darlin. And, we had the man of Rusty Remington. Without recognizing only one for 2023 and the other for 2024, The Council decided to recognize BOTH Lady and Man. THEREFORE..... due to unforeseen delays, we were finally able to recognize Rusty Remington recently and this post makes that official. Congratulations Rusty Remington..... Male JEDI GF of the Year 2023. And as many of you already know, Scarlett Darlin is the Female JEDI GF of the year 2023. Its rare we have TWO such deserving shooters to earn this recognition. They do SASS and GFer's proud. Keep em smoking Rusty. The Council also wants to thank Hairtrigger and Shady McLarry, and others, for representing the Council in making this recognition. ..........Widder

73, vs 92, vs Marlin, vs Lighting
Widder, SASS #59054 replied to H. K. Uriah, SASS #74619's topic in SASS Wire
Howdy HK. Here is my elementary thinking on this. The two folks in SASS known for world record speeds for 10 shots are Deuce and Smokestack. Deuce uses a 'Carty' short stroke Marlin and Smokestack uses a short stroked 73. I think BOTH of them have a video of running 10 shots in 1.57 seconds. NOW, considering both rifles have been modified, my guess is that if BOTH rifles were Unmodified, their times would still be about the same on any given day. Maybe not 1.57 speed, but still faster than the rest of us. Based on that thinking, my guess is that the Marlin and the 73 model rifles can be functioned and fired at equal speeds. Just my opinion. ..........Widder -
If I offeded anyone in 2023
Widder, SASS #59054 replied to Rooster Ron Wayne's topic in SASS Wire Saloon
Someone once told me that TN Williams offended them and ask me why he seems to dislike folks from up North (Yankees). I told them he actually hates Yankees but he ain't prejudice. Heck, he hates everybody equally except Baptist. He tolerates Baptist because the Bunkhouse Boss is Baptist..... he calls her BBB. (Baptist Bunkhouse Boss). Another true story. ..........Widder -
