dokdoc #61722 Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 Thanks but does he work on open tops? Many smiths do not. I will check it out. Thanks
Choctaw Jack Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Ken Griner at Griner Gunworks did a fantastic job on my R-M 1860s, and a pair of 1871 Navies. Action jobs, arbor corrections, coil spring conversions, and lowered and jeweled the hammers and triggers. Both pairs are super smooth and shoot great!
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I have had several Open Top Revolvers worked on by Mike at Goonsgunworks.com He just did a Set of consecutive 44's I bought last year here on the wire that was all wore out and serious need of repair. Of course seller never said a word about how bad guns was . I sent them to Mike and had the Outlaw Mule treatment done to them . Now you can run them full load at full speed for ever and still pass them down to your kids . https://www.goonsgunworks.com/ Tell Mike Rooster sent Yah !
Tall Tale Todd Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Jason Widmer of Boomstick Arms did an excellent job on mine. Cannot say enough good things about his work.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Doc, here's contact info for above and more. If you can find someone nearby to avoid shipping, that might help. Just FYI, all I've done to any of my R-M's is put in a spring kit, and drop a #10 split washer down the arbor hole in the barrel to correct the short arbor issue. They feel good and have been running for years. But if yours have timing or other issues, that's different.
