Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 A young relative of mine just bought a Remington 700 Sendero .300 Win Mag. Still choosing a scope, but in the meanwhile ~ which rings will mate with the base?
Sedalia Dave Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 That is a standard Leupold Scope Base They come in 1 and 2 piece variants. They all use the same scope rings. Video is for a two piece base but they both use the same rings
Duffield, SASS #23454 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Turn the front ring with a dowel. Not the scope!
JD Lud Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 It might be worth swapping the base, especially if he already has rings that fit a pic mount for example. Makes it a lot easier if he is going to move the scope around at all.
Oak Ridge Regulator Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 The great thing about that style of base is you can adjust the left/right drift of the scope when mounting so you get max windage both ways. Not super important at 500 yards but out west where the wind is high and they shoot long distance it can make a difference
